Where was the hippodrome in Sheffield

What I remember about the Hippodrome was the cone shaped fire extinguishers on the wall of the long narrow corridor/ stairway leading to the gods.l think the instruction were to invert the extinguisher and strike the end I can still see them now.I don’t Romberg what I went to see or the date, just the fire extinguisher. -

I have a print of Geo Cunningham’s”Hillsborough Corners” depicting a scene 30s or 40s I did post it on this site sometime ago The Hillsborough Inn was the first pub I went into when I reached legal drinking age in 1957. The landlords name was Wilf. -
Old Barbers in Sheffield, Harry Priestly [Wavy Davy]

It must have been late 40,s or early 50’s,the was a barbers at the Lepping’s Lane end of Wednesday’s ground.One of the barbers was a female who used a taper to singe the hair -

Towards the latter end of WW11 when petrol was scarce some dust bin lorries were run by steam I remember seeing one on Dutton Rd,what sticks in my memory is the huge chain underneath and the fire box -

If you get your pension you will get increases tied to the U.K. System For some reason in Canada it is frozen at the rate you fist get I have been getting it for 13 years and it has never increased It fluctuates with the value of the ÂŁ but the ÂŁ rate stays the same -
