  1. Yup, just do a google search for them "ebony plumpers" that is.
  2. G'Day "itosan" and "walkertelecoms" Trial and error, then go for the latest technology and equipment. My plan with TPG "ADSL2+ Super 2" for AU$69.99 gives me 40Gb peak + 110Gb off peak - 150Gb in total. If you need help or advice on Australian ISP's - send me a PM, as I am an Agent for most of the ISP's and if not then I gave them the "Boot" as they were either no good, too expensive and hopeless on the support. As to Wireless, the coverage is very limited and prices are coming down, however still do not recommend it at this time. " " when you said "I'm around 400 yards and get 16-18mb down (paying for 24mb)." your speed of "16 - 18mb" is that connect speed or download speed? Usually, the actual download speed is never more than 10% of the connect speed, with any ISP, which would make your download speed 1.6 - 1.8 Mbps Your price for a 24GB plan should be no more than ADSL2+ Medium/25GB AU$49.99 / ADSL2+ Speeds (connect speed up to 25000Kbps) / 25GB* (18GB+7GB) shaping after the limit is exceeded to 64k/64k.
  3. G'Day "beansforyou" Try Ubuntu as a free OS or any of the server and other variations all free and the Open Office for a free Office Suite that allows saving and loading any document format. It is a case of "where would we be without IBM clones" I think, rather than Microsoft, which you can do without.
  4. G'Day "walkertelecoms" Old copper wire cables do not help, whereas clean new cables and connections do. Also the equipment used by your ADLS provider and the distance you are from the actual Telephone Exchange are the main factors which effect the quality and speed of your ADSL connection. I am 1.6 Km from my exchange, use TPG in Sydney Australia and download at an average of 1.6 Mbps (1600Kbps)
  5. but you missed my and my very dry sense of humor
  6. G'Day "rooby_roo" You can search for and download anything that is on the peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications system and users computers. What makes you automatically think it is Porn ? Try Music, Movies, Software, etc
  7. G'Day "seanpint" I sent you a PM as I have not yet posted 5 times to be able to include Hyperlinks can't even use [u R L] without spaces. Now I can so here is the information and my reply, The X1650 is a budget card, whereas the 6600GT has GDDR3, yet it rates lower than the X1650 Look up the specifications on the nvidia.com site or try this link for a quick comparison - http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/graphics-cards/3dmark06-v1-0-2-hdr-sm3-0-score,538.html? modelx=33&model1=532&model2=531&chart=213 then at the bottom of the 1st table, click on "View All Products" Have Fun using your PC
  8. G'Day Folks, The most flawed product on this planed has made Bill Gates one of the richest men on it. Yet we use it because of the technology it avails us in our modern society and life style. Big Brother is ever watching and you need to be aware of the latest ploy that can be used on your system. The latest is the "Cofee" not a cup of Coffee, but "COFEE" the latest in spying on your PC. They tell you that it is ONLY used by Law Enforcement Agencies, Quote from Office Watch, "Microsoft is now talking about COFEE, a tool they have released to some law enforcement agencies to let them take a look at Windows computer in a faster, less intrusive way that's easy to use. Microsoft says the tools come on a USB 'stick' which can be inserted into any running Windows computer - a series of scripts can gather information about what's on the machine and save it directly to the hard drive. It's said the tool is useful because it can be used to gather information while the machine is powered on-site and before it's turned off and removed. Of course that also means that COFEE could be used on a covert basis to quickly 'peek' into a computer and gather information without the owner knowing. Great for corporate spying on rival companies." If it can be used on a USB stick, then it can be used akin to the Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html on your PC system. Read more and the related links on * http://news.office-watch.com?610 and, EXTRA: You can read our questions to Microsoft and Microsoft's full statement on COFEE on our web site * http://news.office-watch.com?611 Yet more reasons not to trust Microsoft the Secret Police of the Internet. I have posted a Poll with this Topic to find out how many "Do" or "Do Not" trust Microsoft ? Happy computing Folks.
