  1. Man found safe and well after search and rescue . Not a training exercise.
  2. A round trip on the 2/3 in the late 50s early 60s was the highlight of our Sunday. We were only 10/11.
  3. Living local in the late 40/50/60s we always referred toBeeley Woods as Wadsley.Used to go on my way home from Wadsley Bridge school
  4. Yes I went from Parson Cross to Totleya 2 bus ride At 11 it seemed a long way but soon became the norm. At least I had a bus pass but only for use on certain buses
  5. It was a great place to be in the 60's as was Shades. I remember Long John Baldrey featuring Rod Stewart. Who hears anything about Long John Baldrey nowadays So many great nights
  6. My mom lived in Sorby Street , it was a back to back house I remember the ice cream factory across the road where we use to take dishes to have 3 penny worth of ice cream. Their name was Jacques. An aunt lived in Elsmere road next door to the junk shop-on the corner of Elsmere/ Petre street Oh those outside lavvies Their name was Scandrett.
  7. The Abbeydale road one was a favourite with some of us from King Ecbert's in Totley (long time ago ). I now buy the drink to dilute from Boundry Mills, not as nice as it was draught:
  8. What about pig's face I hated it as a child but my nan loved it. I did like tripe and cow heel pieces though. My dad loved chicklin as he called it. Bless him if he was still with me I'd buy it for him today. Also had cow's udder. Cannot understand why people in London pay a fortune for these things now.
  9. Hope you gave her a penny for the knife. It was the custom for knives and scissors when given new. Did she work at one of Sheffield's cutlers.
  10. My husband -- Paul Liversidge lived on Jaunty Ave. Brother Stephen and sister Janice.
  11. Lived near enough to the wednesday ground to hear every roar of the crowd especially when it was a home goal
  12. My grandma is buried there and when I went to her grave it was very overrun. I have taken a plan of part of the site to Sheffield Archives on Leadmill road. I have also been in touch with Sheffield council who are taking over responsibility for the site, and making it safe. A lot of the graves have caved in and most have trees and ferns around them.
  13. I left in the 60's too I got reported to the headmistress for losing my hockey boots (I think maybe on purpose hated sport)They were very harsh from the moment the school opened maybe because it was all girls and a lot of us were only interested in pop music -- me included
  14. Mad Hatter and Rainbow Lady were Paul and Lyn Liversidge used to live on Rainbow road
  15. See and hear plenty of Pete but does anyone know what happened to Geoff The Mojo was my favourite haunt. Sadly I grew up
