  1. The grant is for bus lanes, there's no requirement for them to be of any benefit. And his comment is ridiculous as well as patronizing. No matter how complicated a concept, someone who truly understands it can express it simply. A typical poltititian way of avoiding the question! They forget they're supposed to be our representatives.
  2. Thanks for all your support I made a little error in my original post, there are 2 different bus lane schemes that affecr Heeley- one for Chesterfield Road and one for Spencer Road. The Spencer Road scheme is the one that affects the trees. All your emails went to the wrong person! Sorry! But he sits next to the right person so he did get them! He is now aware of our love of trees and will be working to reduce the tree felling as much as possible. There will probably still be some thining of the trees but the impact will be much less. We have yet to hear regarding the Chesterfield Road scheme, which has extreme local opposition-it will cause chaos and ruin the Millenium Park. It appears the council has received a grant purely for bus lanes. Look out for any of the yellow boards popping up near you or on your routes and check them out. The schemes WILL ONLY HELP BUSES no considerations will be made for other traffic.
  3. The trees aren't the only objection, the scheme will cause devastation to the local area and won't solve the problem . We just want them ro cinsider other options. ---------- Post added 25-11-2014 at 18:59 ---------- You can't rehouse wild birds
  4. Sheffield council are planning to fell 188 trees (some fully grown and some half grown) as part of a poorly planned bus lane scheme around Heeley. Please help us to persuade the council to consider other options by emailing Tony.Lawery@sheffield.gov.uk[/email] and stating that you object to the tree felling. Or you can find out more by popping to Heeley City Farm between 2 and 8 pm tomorrow wed 26 nov where a representative of the council will be holding a consultation. We only have until this Friday 28th nov to make our objections. The scheme will adversly affect the habitats of 13 birds on the British Trust for Omathology 'birds of conservation concern' red and amber list, 10 other breeding birds and the resting, recovery and feeding sites of about 20 other bird soecies will be adversly affected. Thanks
  5. My fear too is that the council will keep putting the prices up until demand drops and then sell the land to developers. And the woods will follow. Would it be worth organising some kind of protest before this happens? My dad has an allotment less than 20 miles away that costs £10 per year.
  6. Hi I can have a look at your back for you. I'm a mobile therapist so I can come to your home. I have had a great deal of success with back problems when conventional medicine doens't work. I take a holistic approach: I'll look at the whole problem including your posture etc and try to help you to identify the cause of your specific problem to try to prevent re-occurence; as well as giving a deep tissue massage which may include some stretching and manipulation (whilst still being relaxing). I may also give you some stretches or exercises to do yourself. I can provide you with references or you can check out my testimonials here: http://www.theandreatouch.com If you'd like to discuss anything please give me a ring on 01142811475 or 07910 896477.
  7. Hi neckclicker This is a sad thread, and you're obviously unhappy with your lot. But it's never too late to move on and make new beginnings. Life's too short to spend it worrying about what might have been. While you're doing that you're not living now. I might be able to help you, and I'd be happy to try. I'm a complimentary therapist specialising in finding the correct therapy for you. I have had a great deal of success in treating injuries that traditional therapies have failed to improve so may be able to help your neck. I also carry out other types of relaxation and find that meditation can cure many ailments, both physical and psychological. If you feel you're ready to move forwards please phone me and we'll see what we can do between us. You can reach me on 0114 2811475 or 07910 896477. If you'd like more information about me you can visit my web site at http://www.theandreatouch.com. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. Whether you believe it or not you DO have the strength to overcome all obstacles.
  8. Hi I'm a massage therapist and I've been treating some one who's been told one leg was longer than the other and advised to wear a shoe support. His problem was lower back pain and twitching of the leg. He refused. I'm pretty sure the problem was that one hip was higher than the other, probably as a result of some previous surgery. Over time I've stretched out his hip and his condition has improved loads. If he'd worn the shoe support he would have actually made the problem worse. Although he'd been experiencing pain, walking without the support had helped to stretch out his hip and prevented the condition worsening.
  9. Hello to you all. Sciatica seems to be a very common problem and it's one I see alot of. (I'm a mobile massage therapist). My success rate in treating it is very high. In fact I can't think of any cases I haven't got to the bottom of (so to speak) given time. You can find more information about me here: http://www.theandreatouch.com Or you can phone me on 0114 2811475 or 07910 896477. I wish you all, all the best and hope your sciatica leaves you alone!
  10. Hi Madowl Are you still having problems? If so I may be able to help you. I've treated many people with similar problems and I haven't been beat yet! My approach is to relax, reduce the swelling and re-allign. This normally frees the trapped nerve. Please get in touch if you'd like more information: 0114 281147 , 07910 896477 http://www.theandreatouch.com
  11. For your decorating needs I recommend Roger (sorry I don't have his surname, he's in my phone as Roger Decorator.) He's done quite a bit of work for us and did a brilliant job. Particularly with the internal doors. We thought they were fit only for the bin: they were coming apart at the joints where the panels meet and one was completely broken where it had a foot through it some time ago (don't ask). He insisted he could sort it out and now they look like new! His mobile number is 07910 937757
  12. For TILING (ceramic wall and floor tiling) I recommend RJ Tiling He's neat, tidy, professional, friendly and reliable and does a cracking job. He'll give you a free estimate, he works evenings and weekends if required and he'll even come out for the little jobs. Telephone: 01709-533722 Mobile: 07813-105554 Email: rj-tiling@hotmail.co.uk
  13. Hi Cressida I can do you a massage, and I'm very respectable. I'm qualified and insured. I offer a mobile service at your home or workplace or you can see me at the Bohemian at Heeley on Fridays. (53 Chesterfield Road) There's a cafe downstairs and treatment rooms upstairs. I'll be downstairs between treatments so if you'd like to meet me before you comit you can see me there. It's impossible to mention massage without people being rude isn't it? Makes my job very difficult! You can find more information about me here: http://www.theandreatouch.com Or if you'd like to discuss anything please give me a ring: 0114 2811475, 07910896477
  14. Hi there Do you have a serious illness? Or one that there's no reasonable treatment for? I may be able to help and I'd definitely like to meet you. My name's Andrea and I'm a holistic therapist. I've recently been developing my skills in unexpected ways, using crystals and sound. I've seen significant improvements in patients with Crohn's disease and cerebral palsy and I'm also keen to try similar techniques on patients with other illnesses. I know this must sound strange to some of you because I would have thought I was crazy a couple of years ago too; crystals and sounds?! I have a degree in applied chemistry and worked in analysis and as a scientific consultant and occupational hygienist for many years. I never doubted the intersting properties of crystals but I never thought I'd be using them in healing. The same goes for sound waves and vibrations. But the results speak for themselves. Please contact me if you'd like to discuss anything, or you can come and meet me at the Bohemian on Fridays (53 Chesterfield Road, Heeley). There's a cafe downstairs and treatment rooms upstairs. You can find more information about me here: http://www.theandreatouch.com/ My phone numbers are 0114 2811475 and 07910 896477 e-mail enquiries@theandreatouch.com I look forward to meeting you, take care and heal quick xx
