  1. How is there a battle? What will they lose? They did a Greek supper club recently but I don't imagine it was with the plan that everyone would hitherto eat souvlaki and nothing else. I would love to understand what it is about the word "vegan" that a certain type find so triggering
  2. Well, it's not technically unavoidable is it? Don't buy into the industry if you don't like it. I'm surprised the OP considers the practice "secret." He's going to blow his mind if he finds out what happens to all the male chicks...
  3. The Old Town Square and Karlova (the road that links the square with Charles Bridge) can be pricey, and generally they are where you'll find the tourist scams, but you don't need to wander very far to find beers at around a pound and main meals for 4-5 quid. All bars and restaurants are required to have their prices on display outside, and even some places that you'd think might be tourist prices (Kampa Island perhaps, or the road up to the Castle) aren't excessive. If you want cheap and dirty authentic, that hasn't changed for decades, try the Rudolfina or the Rotundy pubs. U Zlateho Tygra is also very unchanged and cheap but hard work to find a space within about 10 mins of it opening. Enjoy!
  4. Genuinely interested - have you got a source for that? It's something I've never heard before
  5. Are you equally bothered that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have just had a child by surrogate?
  6. Interesting. You're implying (and that's how "you're" is spelt, by the way) that because women in the past didn't speak out it didn't happen or we didn't care? I'm middle age and can attest that some men really have always needed a nudge into the "appropriate engagement" class. We're not fluffy or snowflakes, it's just we were told to put up with it. I'm guessing that as gammon you will always fail to recognise that. Gammon men really just don't like women.
  7. I have a relative who is a primary school teacher. Apparently kids are taught now that loving parents are great, and that might mean one mum, one dad, a mum and a dad, two dads, two mums, or whatever, The love and support bit is important. According to my relative most kids are utterly indifferent re this unless their parents have a problem. When the parents are intolerant that's reflected in the kids. I wonder why you refer to "normal" families and others? It's a real shame that you can't support all kids.
  8. So a man-woman marriage that can't procreate is invalid? If they use surrogate etc same as a same sex couple might, what's the difference?
  9. What actually does "expecting" mean? It means something is imminent, like in the way I'm expecting a birthday present or a bank statement. It's absolutely accurate. They aren't pregnant or adopting or whatever. They are "expecting a baby." There's literally nothing to see here as far as I can tell.
  10. Her income relies on the outrage she causes, and it's not the first time she's flirted with Nazi themes, for example the human cockroaches thing from last summer, so I think she absolutely knows what she's doing. Let's hope the efforts that went into getting her off LBC (targeting and boycotting their advertisers etc) now work with Mailonline, although I suspect that unfortunately they can take the hit more than LBC can
  11. First they came for Katie Hopkins, and I did not speak. Because I'd been waiting ages for them to come for Katie Hopkins.
  12. It would appear so, as he's just given his name in court as "death to traitors, freedom for Britain." I wonder when the Daily Mail will start calling him a terrorist rather than a mentally ill loner (not that the two are mutually exclusive, obviously)
  13. I've been a couple of times and would recommend. Both times we've made a mezze out of the starters menu as everyone I was eating with was veggie; the starters are all vegetarian but the main courses were very predominantly meat-heavy. The food is great, a little oil and cheese heavy if I was looking to criticise, but next time I go I'll be on the battered courgettes, baked chilli feta and veg fritters like a dog on hot chips. I can live with oil and cheese! There's freshly baked pitta for every table too, although, no olives, which I'd sort of expected they would provide. It's not the flashest place inside, and when I last went they were cash only, but they seem to be nice people and the food (or at least the veggie food I've had) is great. Hope it succeeds
  14. Not quite - I "moaned" last year to 101 when I saw one of them mount the pavement on Nether Edge Road and later laughed when I saw the vehicle get impounded. The drivers are clearly socially inadequate and trying to make up for some shortfallings in their lives. Small genitalia I wonder? Or having to live by their parents' rules because they aren't allowed to leave home and stand on their own two feet and prove themselves as adults?
