  1. https://www.change.org/p/please-help-me-save-52a-bus-cut-to-wisewood-and-loxley
  2. Looks like the consultation form has been written by an 8 year old - asks for your postcode, and the next question is 'which area do you live in' - duh
  3. The way it stands those new right turns onto Clarkson Street won't have any effect at all - after sitting on buses at those lights every night this week, I can tell you with a little authority that the right turn green light is on for about 6 seconds !!! Sometimes ONE bus doesn't even have time to put on a full steering lock to get around the corner, before the light changes back to red again.
  4. Prince Andrew was opening the new helipad at NGH
  5. I asked a couple of weeks back at their Customer Service desk about the travelators and the woman on the desk told me they had been condemned, so will have to be re-built
  6. Piccolo's on West St do, was there the other night
  7. I'd second that - have had quite a bit of jewellry alterations done by Mick
  8. can't even call Travel South Yorkshire - just keep getting message 'all lines are busy, please call back later'
  9. I always go to Liverpool Airport by train, frequent service to South Parkway, and buses every 15/20 mins from there to the airport
  10. If you live near the Northern General, get on the H1 shuttle bus, runs between Northern & Hallamshire every half an hour. You can check out the timetable on http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/timetablefinder.aspx?searchtext=h1&mode=bus
  11. Still lashing it down in Oughtibridge - been raining like this for 3 hrs now
  12. Bad here in Oughtibridge - glad i'm up a hill. There's a river running down my street !
  13. Hi all, I have a copy of a book about the Sheffield Flood, written by Samuel Harrison, and published in April 1898, complete with adverts of the day, ie pianos from 25 guineas, and mens tweed trousers from 3s/11d. Makes very interesting reading ...
  14. Yerman Hi, this is Irene, over in Mallorca Found your posts by coincidence. Just been back to Sheffield for my sister in law's funeral (she posted under Scout as she was a Scout Leader), and was searching for some scout info, and came across your messages. I obviously know you, but not from your user name. So sad to hear about Clive a while back. I always used to send him a birthday card every August, and a Xmas card to him and Sue, and when I came over I always used to meet up with him, George Hibberd and Christine Unwin for lunch one day. Hope to hear back from you soon. Irene x
  15. I went around the pubs in town from '71 with my big brother, and none of you have mentioned the Bucanneer - now that was a place and a half !
