The Abbey at Woodseats about to take a turn for the worse
snuggles replied to muddycoffee's topic in Going out in Sheffield
Tried Guzzle last week. Nice little place with lovely beers and a great Yorkshire Cider. Friendly staff and it's been nicely done out. Will be popping in regularly, and I'm certainly no Hipster -
Moving home, advice on areas
snuggles replied to DirtyHerbert's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Another vote here for Beauchief/Millhouses. I love living round there, close to parks, pubs, good restaurants, shops, schools and good access into town with The Peak District right on your doorstep. -
The Old House closed down? Now reopened/renamed
snuggles replied to Pecky's topic in Going out in Sheffield
Has it re-opened yet? Walked past the other day and it nearly looked ready. -
What a great post, couldn't have put it better myself

Beauchief.

Thanks Andy, didn't realise it was that close so would be great to cycle in then, particularly if you can do it via one of the trails. Having said that there should be plenty to keep us entertained on site, I just love the atmosphere of it all. Might have to have a drive out for a little recky.

I'll be there and am camping again this year. This will be the third time I've ridden in this fantastic event. The routes and location are different this year but hopefully it'll be just as good. The mud was a bit too much last year and a lot of people had to be towed in and out of the camping pitches so hopefully that won't be a problem at the new site. Only downfall I see is not being able to nip in and out of Bakewell but I'm looking forward to it. If you like old bikes, a bit of vintage and music then get yourself down and join in with this fantastic festival

What's Beauchief like as an area to live?
snuggles replied to Trude's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I love living in the area, never had any problems and it's ideally placed for so many things. If you like walking/mountain biking we've got Ecclesall Woods, Hutcliffe Woods, Chancet Woods and a lovely walk up through Beauchief Abbey and the golf course and around the Hall. Some nice little local cafes on Hutcliffe Wood Rd and not far to walk down to Millhouses Park where there is loads for the kids to do and where there are some great pubs - Waggon & Horses (now a True North pub), The Robin Hood and The Millhouses. Also some nice little shops/cafes at Millhouses and also not too far to walk to Woodseats either. A great restaurant in Marco at Milanos and not far up to The Rising Sun at Parkhead and the new Miller & Carter steak restaurant. Not far into town and the bus service is good, also not far to Dore train station. The all new Graves sports centre is up the road and the new retail outlet will bring some more good shops to the area. Sainsburys and Tesco down the road too. All the best with your families move Trude. -
Where to buy reasonable price beds

Another vote here for Beds for Everyone on Mansfield Road Intake. We got our mattress and the one before it from here. Really helpful blokes who aren't pushy. -
Best place for real Christmas trees 2016
snuggles replied to bassett one's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Does anyone know if the little Christmas Tree place near the Old 'Inn at Troway' and 'Wards' garden centre is open in the week or is it just weekends? i can't find anything on-line. Thanks. -
CCTV recommendations and advice - No advertising/jobs/quotes
snuggles replied to oggy's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Has anyone used the Maplins CCTV installation service? Were you pleased with the job? Does anyone have recommendations for installers based in Sheffield/South Yorkshire? Thanks. -
Thank you for all your suggestions. I've found an excellent place called ReCycle Bikes in Heeley (Thirwell Rd). They've done great job on fixing my bike where others had failed to spot the problem. Very friendly, efficient and fantastic value for money. I'll be using them from now on. They also do youth and adult training on how to fix the bike yourself with experts on hand to help you along with applying that WD40 spray

Hi. I'm looking for some recommendations on where's best to take my mountain bike for a service and for help with some general adaptations to it. Can anyone advise on where best to go please?

Thanks. Any ideas on what's happening to the old site?
