  1. Thank you, hillsbro! - That's great! - It's so evocative of the good old days. - I used to love my old primary school (it was in Hull) and its teachers. Loved my old grammar school too and the Latin lessons and other worthwhile stuff.
  2. I used to love those tables at the back of some exercise books. The exercise books I remember fondly had red covers and I think they were called Silvrine or something like that. I loved imperial weights and measures, learning and reciting them - and remembering them.
  3. Hi Hawa - The answer is here - http://lifehacker.com/5311002/open-a...-like-a-monkey
  4. I open them this way and it is very easy: http://lifehacker.com/5311002/open-a-banana-like-a-monkey
  5. Thanks, all of you. I often give things to various charity shops; it's just that I have to go to Crosspool today and had there been a charity shop there it would have given me the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
  6. Is there a charity shop in Crosspool Shopping Centre, please?
  7. I cdn't stand Evan Davis when I heard him on Radio 4's Today programme. Now I've seen him on Newsnight I can't stand him on TV either. I'd prefer Eddie Mair.
  8. I think it has completely given up as a business and is no longer trading at all. (It used to be on Onslow Road but it is some years since it left there.)
  9. Hi KieronJMW You can easily and safely lose some of your excess weight by seriously cutting down on salt and salty food. This reduces water retention. Reducing water retention has many health benefits and it makes you feel a lot better too. HTH
  10. Thanks ever so much for your clear, helpful post, Mikes10. My problem is now solved. SF users are always so helpful...(o:
  11. When I compose emails I have a very wide screen upon which to write and I do not want this because the lines are too long. I suppose at one time I may have known how to adjust the width of the emails but website updates and such have changed over time and I don't know how to adjust the present setup. I use Windows LiveMail and Windows 7 and the most up-to-date version of FireFox. I'd be grateful for any help, bearing in mind that despite using a desktop computer for many years I remain pretty poor at techie stuff.
  12. Thanks ever so much for trying to help, Techtomic. - I've managed to solve the problem now. (o:
  13. Deleted items in one of my mailboxes is grey and I cannot delete the contents. Please can anyone help this non-techie? (I must confess I have been using my inbox to 'store' and should have been deleting as I went along.) Thanks for looking.
