I almost took a private house on there but changed me mind when a gang of lads tried mugging my son in front of my very eyes when we went to view it. All areas have a bad side I'd just be wary if you have children especially teens.

What's the issues with maynell? I'm thinking of keeping them in arbourthorne anyway.

---------- Post added 28-04-2013 at 18:35 ---------- The council aren't going to knock us two 3 beds together its just not going to happen neither am I going to split my family up living in two separate houses. How would I decide who lived in which when none of the kids are old enough to to live alone. This is a workable solution, it may not be the best area but I'm great full we've been offered it and tbh I don't expect the council to do special things for us just because we decided to have a large family.

Trouble is there aren't many areas with 4 bed on so we can't pick and choose or wait for the right property to be come available. No housing association will touch us because we are to overcrowded in a 5 by their rules.

Thank you for all the replies. It's really helping to hear from real people who live there. I had assumed its probably like arbourthorne but then watched a video of Buchanan road from 2004. I'm hoping its not like that now, I've never seen so many empty houses. I'm assuming this is where the new houses are now? The road I'm most interested it is colley road. It looks so quite on street view but others say different. I've 2 teenage boys and a 10 year old with ADHD so I'm a little wary of gangs and trouble. You've all be really helpful, I'm having a drive round a few times over the weekend.

We've been offered a house up there but I have heard so much bad stuff about the area. I currently live on what's supposed to be one of the worst roads on arbourthorne and have no trouble so I'm sure things are not always as they may seam. I would like to hear from people who live there now not people who have never lived there and just want to say its god a bad name. I'm worried about the amount of break ins and have been told there are loads of gangs about. It was only jan this year I read an old couple were robbed in their own home on the road we've been offered but I'm aware things like this happen all over. It's an older 4 bed.

We have 8 kids now actually and my kids are happy sharing. My 3 boys are the oldest and share happily my oldest is 15. Anyone who wants to treat me like some kind of scrounger please go ahead I don't care my hubby works we pay full rent so I'm proud. I mearly want to know if I will have much more room and its worth a huge move don't need opinions on sharing ect but I've read and taken your opinion on board thanks

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong place. We have been offered a 4 bed up parson cross and I'm wanting to know what they are like inside ie bedroom size, kitchen size and living room size. Not viewing it till Monday but I'd just like to get a rough idea. Thank you for any info x
