How can A&E waiting time be made shorter?
deepcarsteve replied to joiner andy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I recently spent 6 hours waiting in A&E. 1 hour of that just us in the waiting area. We was just waiting for a bed on the ward. So no fault on a&e the waiting time but looked bad on them due to bed shortage in rest of hospital. Not everything is clear cut. Waiting times not always due to how many people in a&e. -
The bridge is not a public right of way. The council was looking in to it but it never happened. So the railway company can do what they like. The quicker they put in ticket barriers the better. My train passes Dore and daily more people enter front carriages rather than back, knowing guard can not get to the back of train, I also never see them go to ticket office on arrival at Sheffield to buy a ticket, they must loose thosands a year, brining the cost of my ticket up.

(Clanktown) Stocksbridge Sports Centre
deepcarsteve replied to ANGELFIRE1's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Sadly Stocksbridge is an easy target. Miles away from many in Sheffield so the loss will only be noticed by local people. On a side note whenever I have been their is a queue waiting to pay so it is not failing in this way. -
http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/wales/consumer_w/consumer_common_problems_with_products_e/consumer_what_you_can_do_about_faulty_goods_e/faulty_goods_-_if_you_want_your_money_back.htm If the trader wants to send faulty goods to the manufacturer to check The trader might want to send faulty goods to the manufacturer for an examination before agreeing to give you your money back. Ask how long this will take. The goods must be returned within a reasonable time. If you are asking for a full refund, make it clear that repairs are not to be carried out without your agreement. This would be an unfair practice. Many unfair practices by traders are against the law. After the manufacturer has examined the goods, if the trader doesn’t think there’s a fault you may have to get a second opinion. This is because, if you do want a full refund, it’s up to you to prove the item is faulty. For more about what to do if you think a practice is unfair, see Unfair trading practices

IMO Jesus would not have joined in any protest. Reasons for my view on this is as follows: Mark 11:15-19 "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations" - So not for protests Matthew 22:21 "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's" - So indicating taxes and money to goverments you should give without complaint or uprisings Mark 12:41-43 "This poor woman put in more than the rich people did," he said. "Here's why: the rich people still have much money left. But this woman only had two coins. She did not have any more money. The rich people only gave part of what they had. She gave all of what she had." - No details of lets protest and demand the rich give all their money just pointing out women will be better off in spirit. Their are other notes on money including many saying do not make a point of what you give. And if want pure goodeness give it all away. Not one thing did Jesus say or suggest the people should not be paid the money they do, not once did he suggest money should be shared equally, just to make sure we look after the poor. So Jesus protesting, no IMO he would say this is holy land for prayer and god, give to the quuen what is hers. If you give all you got and the rich give a little you will be richer for it. Do not judge others but leave that to god in heaven.

Are snacks and drinks overpriced at the cinema?
deepcarsteve replied to Nagel's topic in General Discussions
To continue on argument on costings Cineworld made £1.13 profit out of every film atendee. Many Cineworlds have a lot lower ticket prices than Sheffield, with sheffield having Early Bird tickets only until 1pm. But have a look at Chesterfield early bird is up to 5pm and on Tuesday they have even cheaper tickets all day. And even in peak tickets are 40p cheaper. So Cineworld do play Sheffield as a mug. If they are going to charge us high prices on food, they should set ticket prices same as other local Cineworld / other cinemas, and if it is a fact they give a large percentage of ticket price to studios etc. it won't make much differance to them to reduce it then will it . -

Don't think the argument of they can't survive without selling popcorn argument is correct, just one that certain cinemas tell you. Take VUE early tickets today are £5.30 Cineworld are £7.60 all day. So assuming VUE are making £0 on the early tickets (probably not true) Cineworld are making £2.30 a ticket. On Saturday I was in a full screen say 150 people (and many other bigger screens were near capacity looking at amount of people). So my one film made Cineworld £345. £115 a hour for just my film. Even on half capacity based on just my screen (a small one) multiplied by 20 screens that is £1150 a hour, even before popcorn. Places like VUE may only survive on Popcorn at these low rates, but places like Cineworld at £7.60 a ticket do not. But price dictate demand, if there is demand they can raise prices. -
You have to make sure they are including your child in to account http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/PDF/leaflets/new/CSL303.pdf page 15 says they will have to ignore £162 of his wage. So should only take £183 a month + any back pay. The important thing is to let them know of the addional child he is having to look after. Details on how to appeal http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/PDF/leaflets/new/CSL307.pdf
