  1. HELP please! My I took the kids to hillsborough park this afternoon and let my 2 year old daughter hold my keys and she LOST them! I has gone back to look for them but no luck. If anyone comes across a bunch of keys with a yellow teacher key ring and a darth Vader Lego man please can you let me know. They should be on the path near hillsborough arena. I'll be externally grateful. Thank you PM please if you have info.
  2. Am about to start a blog post covering the concept of a first draft. Writing it from the perspective of describing it to a none writer who has never attempted such an endeavour. Kind of like a rough guide highlighting stuff your bound to encounter such as; - The blank page, - The first line/paragraph that will never make it into the final draft. - How the first part of a 1st draft feel completely different to the second part. Would love some other perspectives. Is their anything you guys come across writing 1st drafts would surprise a none writer. Or just how it feels, which bit you enjoy, which bit you dread.
  3. Hi It depends on who your target market. If it's management and/or business students then maybe 2 is better suited. If this is an interesting book for the lay person to read then 3 is more appropriate. I also couldn't read No 1. Hope this helps.
  4. Batts 96. Sorry for not getting bak. I'll PM you now. ---------- Post added 24-09-2013 at 10:49 ---------- Have a fixed arial. In fact it was the wiring. Used Stannington Arials. Very reasonable, friendly an helpful.
  5. Hi. Would be grateful of any recommendations for local TV arial or repair people in the Sheffield area. Niven to riverlin area and getting little if any reception at present. Thanks
  6. Hi Have a washing machine that is only 3 years old but broken and not needed since we moved into our new home. Would be good for spare parts, repair potentially or scrap. Anyone got any tips or pointer on how best to get rid, Thanks
  7. We enjoyed using Woodlane as our wedding venue this year. We had 80 sit down along three tressal rowed tables and it was just right any more would have been stretching it. A Marquee is a good idea to extend the venue. We used Rent a Tent who I'd recommend as reliable and reasonable. Electrical power out side is something to keep in mind but not difficult. The venue has two outside sockets which we ran a bouncy castle off and the bar (using a very long extension bought from B&Q). Also for outside food. If set up near the small barn in the caught yard they can run electricity of a socket in that barn.
  8. We had our wedding at woodlane in July this year. We felt it was a great venue for a wedding of 80 (plus additional guests in the evening). Music timing wan't an issue with us. Quieter music from 1130 and off by midnight was made clear and its in the contract. There were a few niggles about picking up and dropping keys off. But its all very relaxed. This is a trade of to being allowed complete access. You do need a second room for the guests be it either the smaller barn or a marquee, we used a marquee. We felt the price was reasonable and allowed us to have no hidden costs and allowing us to have everything we wanted. From what I gather its difficult to find a wedding venue where you have complete control like this £500 for a civil ceremony seems steep, we had a church wedding and it cost much less than that. The cost of the Barn going up next year I fear is all about market forces. We got the barn due to a cancellation but It's become a very popular venue to use and they have way more interest than slots to fill. I suspect they'll still fill the slots even with the higher rates.
  9. Hi Any tips on where / hoe to get an wedding dress cleaned before we store it away. Part of our wedding was outside so the bottom of the dress is quite dirty. The dry cleaners in crooks said they would have to send it away to a specialist in Leeds costing (If I recall correctly) £130! I'd be great full of any pointers or tips.
  10. Thank you all for your suggestions. Lots of providers were fully booked up. We are sorted though and have gone with Rent a tent who had one tent left and were just able to squeeze us in to their tight schedule over the weekend. They were both very helpful and accommodating. Thanks again all for the help and advice
  11. Hi I'm to get married at Wood Lane Countryside centre this weekend and have just been in touch with the Marquee vendor to pencil in final arrangements. It comes to light they are now unable to provide the larger marquee we requested. Although they are able to rent us a smaller marquee it's nowhere near ideal so if you can help or know someone who might please pm me. Marquee is to be used as bar area / second quiet room for venue The marquee specs Size - preferable be 20ft by 40ft (6m by 12m) - or equivalent in floor space. Floor - simple lining Extras - seating and tables for 40-45 Other - lining would be nice but not essential Instillation and delivery - site access from Friday 13th 1pm to Sun 15th 1pm Would really appreciate the help. Thanks James
  12. Hi Have a do it yourself wedding coming up on the 14th July and will be looking to rent/ borrow Glassware. Mostly wine glasses. Any tips for someone in the Sheffield based area. Thanks James
  13. Hi, does anyone know of any reasonably priced Sheffield based bands who could be described as jazz(ish) and do weddings. Looking for an acoustic band for the garden party section of our wedding (pre wedding breakfast). Suggestions please..
  14. In a last minute 'Who should I vote for and why?' though I pop on line and Google to see if I can find a breakdown of who's running and what they stand for and I find nothing. Anyone got any pointers to on line resources that would give me this info?
  15. Were quite tourn about this. We know all the down sides and potential poor quality of the snaps but its a strange paradox. Due to the nature of Digital world we live in. In a way photos have become more throw away now than they were when those 'disposable cameras' were all the range. Was a a friends 30 the weekend just gone and they pulled out an old photo from my uni days that was taken 11 1/2 years ago it was all badly framed, not quite lit right and people weren't looking or doing quite what you'd want them to. It just felt special like it had captured a moment. Capturing a memory. We'd like that to look back on. Our official wedding photographer is a documentary / landscape style photographer so we'll get some of that from him but I suspect not so much from the digital photos people feel fit to send our way.
