  1. I'm pretty sure when I left work at aprox. 1pm I saw the same bloke at the building site opposite the Penny Black again. He was making a nuisance of himself trying to kick passing cars etc.
  2. I was simply talking about them not delivering properly regardless of what the leaflet is.
  3. It's not just political leaflets I'm talking about, it's ALL leaflets, pizza, conservatories, farm foods, everything. The leaflet deliverers all do the same.
  4. As a postman I go to literally hundreds of doors a day. In my experience all the leaflet distributors do this. When they get there before us, which will become more and more often, every address has them hanging halfway out so when we lift the flap up they fall out. What are we supposed to do? Post the leaflets for them properly, for free, whilst they have got paid for it? And since we are talking dozens if not hundreds of doors, pick up all the leaflets that have fell on the floor and the wind blows them all over? Zero chance of that one! Why can't they put them all the way through? We do. Their employers only need to follow them round to see all their leaflets on the floor and see they haven't done their jobs properly. Or maybe I am wrong, maybe they are told to do it like that?
  5. Bottom half of Ansell road is pretty steep too.
  6. I seem to remember at the time some English lads were bothering some girls so Jimmy stepped in to assist the girls and he got a severe beating. I don't remember it being a mugging but I could be wrong and would stand corrected.
  7. In the late 70's my dad used to take us to a shop that was ran by a really old fella called Jim. It sold leather goods and he did leather alterations and stuff like that. I was only 10 or something and this Jim fella was my dads uncle, i.e my grandads brother. He used to wear one of those really old leather aprons. It was a really olde worlde shop about halfway down the Wicker on the left hand side going away from town.
  8. Stopped going in since they hiked their prices up just before the last lockdown. Our round went up from 4.40 to 6 40, a rise of a pound a pint. Had a word with the manager and he said nothing he could do so told him he had lost us permanently.
  9. At our local school people would park in the playground if they got half a chance!
  10. On a brighter note, has everyone heard the tune the bells play over the festive period?
  11. Wait while the strike kicks in in October, then you'll see problems.
  12. I would also like to add that whilst we were doing the escort the waves and thumbs up of approval we got from people in the streets was also very heart-warming as was the patience and tolerance of all the vehicles in the traffic we held up.
  13. The closure was only 20:00 to 22:30 on August 1st. It was posted at all the relevant bus stops and online.
