  1. Poem from Japan Difficult for simple me Should I give it up?
  2. Contemplate haiku right or wrong,is this correct? Will I ever know?
  3. Hi linslou, I would just stick to regular mosquito repellant, spray/creams. There is no scientific evidence, that I have found that supports the claim garlic will deter mosquitos. It is a good antiseptic apparently! Enjoy your holiday.
  4. I'm almost finished reading 'The Universe before the Big Bang', by Maurizio Gasperini. It's been really hard work, but very rewarding. I have just started reading 'Abusive Mouths in Classical Athens', by Nancy Worman, it's surprisingly interesting.
  5. The Rainmaker is a pretty good film. In terms of tv legal dramas, I think Boston Legal was excellent, pretty overlooked and underrated. It had intelligence, humor and dealt with contemporary issues with tongue firmly in cheek, most of the time.
  6. Texxers/texters is a horrible word, I worked for a mobile phone Co.I heard it all the time and it actually caused me pain to hear that word. I also hate it when people say infinity when they mean affinity.
  7. Hi manorguy, If you decide to get the 8120 on orange, you can use the blackberry email facility and you also get 50mb of web browsing per month too. The blackberry bundle costs £5 per month and comes out of your top-up, you can opt out of it if you wish. Hope this helps.
  8. Hi ukstudent, Try this site, it has some discussion boards/forums relating to GDL and training contracts etc... http://www.lawstudent.co.uk/ Good luck with your studies!!!
  9. Im really glad it only got as far as sticking them in ears to "clear" blockages. Im really glad practitioners don't claim that they can ease constipation.
  10. Another new age kink that really get my goat is ear candles, I can kinda understand why people would think that they would work, but they really don't. There is so much clinical evidence out there that states it has no effect at all, but people still shell out their hard earned cash on this rhubarb. Even Edzard Ernst, the only Prof of alternative medicine in the uk, stated they do more harm than good. http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract;jsessionid=99715C9EFD7D87335BFE72875C873CDA.tomcat1?fromPage=online&aid=403194
  11. Darwin was right though, evolution happens! it has been observed by Richard Lenski, over a 20 year period and over 40,000 generations of ecoli bacteria. The evidence is there to see. Darwin's theory is not a religion, there is no dogma or faith involved and it is observable, testable and most importantly falliable . And could you please elaborate on the many errors in Darwin's theory.
  12. How very dare you Sir. I was assured they were real, by a very honest gent. He promised me that for the sum of £100, I would be protected from all kinds of spooks and specters, especially vampires.
  13. Nah I had my protective amulet on, protects me from energy vampires.
  14. What really annoys me is when new age practitioners talk about "energy", especially in Reiki, what a bloody scam!!!! I got talking to a Reiki master a bit back, I lost the will to live after about five minutes.
