  1. The next Man of Steel run starts in less than 7 days. If you don't know it's a 5k or 10k race set in Graves park, however there are obstacles lots of obstacles. From climbing the purpose made walls to scrambling under many cargo nets to wading through the pond! Last years event went down really well and we hope to make it even better this year. We've even added a few more obstacles and with the recent weather it should make the course lots of fun. If you want to test yourself give it a try. The race starts at 16.00 on Sunday 15th July at the pavilion Graves park. All entrants get a race goodie bag and t-shirt. Proceeds go to Help for Heroes. For more info find us on facebook or http://www.sheffieldmanofsteel.co.uk

  10. Sheffield Man of Steel entries are now open! This is a 5/10k cross country race with a difference. Set in Graves park the run will take you around the whole park and as you move through the course you must overcome the various obstacles dotted along the route. You will be wet, muddy and exhausted but hopefully still smilling at the end! It will take place on Sunday 17th July 2011, start time for the 5k will be 16.00, 10k will be shortly after. For further details please see our website http://www.sheffieldmanofsteel.co.uk You can also follow us on facebook. Proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes charity. This race will hopefully highlight what a great city Sheffield is by not only showing it's green open spaces but also by spreading the word of local businesses who support us either with sponsorship or other help. Hopefully it will grow to be a large scale annual event. Help us now on this first race by signing up. Cheers.
  11. British Military Fitness is the way ahead, it's challenging but really fun. It's outside in the parks with a group of friendly people there for the same reason, they want to get fit and enjoy it but are bored with stuck up, unfriendly, lonley gyms. Give it a go
  12. A few places have just become available for our upcoming Fitness Bootcamp this month. The aim is to get away for the wknd to our purpose made camp and take part in a mixture of exercise classes, lectures, team games, challenges and more. You will be pushed physically but in an encouraging positive way, you will not be barked at in the press up position etc! All ability levels will be catered for within various groups. You will make friends and have fun I gaurantee it. It takes place over the wknd starting Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd of May. The camp is in Castleton surrounded by the beutiful peak district. The whole wknd including food and accomodation is only £150 (have a look at other camps for a price comparison!) All proceeds go to kidney research charity. For more details please message Steve at- stephen.k@ssafa.org.uk Thanks.
