  1. Hello I just wanted to recommend MET Gas Services (details below). They did a couple of jobs for me recently - Boiler repair and service, and some bath tap replacements. All work was to a good standard and reasonably priced (you get what you pay for). I always struggle to find reliable trades people, so if anyone is looking for someone, you could do a lot worse! 2. Hello I need to lose a lot of weight and get fit and I wanted to canvass opinions on iwhat kind of martial art would be the most suitable for someone in my situation. Obviously fitness/flexibility is an issue at the moment, so I wanted to know what the better options would be, and also maybe get some recommendations for friendly clubs/instructors, which would put up with someone who has an awful lot of work to do to lose weight and get fit. I live in the S20 area but am willing to travel for the right club. Thanks Tone
  3. Thanks for the replies so far - plenty of options to consider!!
  4. Hello I would like to canvass some opinions please. I need to lose a lot of weight and get fit and I am looking for a gym to join (after my contract with Fitness Unlimited expired). The monthly costs isn't a massive issue (although the smaller the fee the better obviously) but I am looking for a gym where I will feel comfortable and would welcome someone like me who really is near the bottom rung when it comes to fitness. I have read a lot of posts on here and there seems to be varying opinions on places like Virgin, Pure Gym etc etc. Ideally I would like a gym which has decent cardio equipment, a pool would be good to and somewhere where the staff and members are friendly too. Any opinions on the hotel based health clubs (St Pauls, Hilton etc) would be useful too. I live in south Sheffield, so the closer to home the better I suppose.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I might join Virgin Active or something then. I quite fancy a bit of peace and quiet when I am swimming.
  6. Hello I am looking to start swimming regularly at Ponds Forge, but would prefer to go when it is quiet. Can anyone who goes regularly let me know how busy it gets first thing in the morning please (6.30-7.30am)? Thanks Tone
  7. I have been a member of a site called Xpert 11 for a number of years now. It is an online football management game, which is free to play (although you can pay for additional features called VIP status). Basically you have virtual players and you pick a team and tactics to play against other managers in a league. You then earn points to boost your ranking and you can win prizes in certain leagues etc. Anyway I am trying to recruit managers for my leagues, so if you are interesting in joining, please use the link below: www.xperteleven.com/?xid=222356 To find my leagues go to - The Game - Search - League - and type in either 122650 (for The Floodlit League) or 222209 (for The Speed League). I will be happy to help anyone get used to the game once they have joined. About Xpert Eleven Xpert Eleven is an online football manager game where you can play with your friends or other football managers in our football community. We consider Xpert Eleven to be a social game that everybody can play. It's easy to play, but hard to master. Our online manager game is completely free to play. Create your own league and invite your friends or join our official league system. Feel welcome to try your skills in this free football management game.
  8. I would welcome any help or advice on this please. I have just noticed that there is water dripping into my bedroom from the wooden frame of my window (the windows themselves are upvc double glazing). It would appear that the water has seeped through the brick and is coming into the house through this wooden panel above the window (not the actual upvc frame itself). The water has also seeped into the inside walls around the window as there are damp patches. I know that this has been caused by the snow and ice sitting on the roof, gutter and outside walls, but I didn't expect this to happen. The guttering is quite old so I imagine this has made the problem worse. What I want advice on is: A)How serious a problem is this (particularly the water dripping from the wooden panel above the window) as I am worried about the frame collapsing or something. B) Other than mop up the water, is there anything I can do about it now or do i just have to wait until the snow melts. Thanks in advance for any useful advice you can give.
  9. Would be interested to know why there are still no buses in Beighton. Lorrys, Vans and some cars seem to be able to get about - so why not buses? Haven't seen any route testing or anything. The sooner they get back out the sooner everything can return to normal.
  10. This scam was featured on Watchdog a while ago. They use sites like that and usually ask you to send money via Western Union or something similar! If something sounds too good to be true - it usually is!
  11. Rileys on Mansfield Road is fine. I actually like the one off Ecclesall Road too - although the car park leaves a lot to be desired!
  12. Join your local Rileys and play there!
  13. Do they sell pet supplies there? Or is it simply a sanctuary? If so, I would rather buy what I need there rather than one of the big chains.
  14. I like how you edited one swear word but left in the other!
