  1. finished it with a score of 522
  2. My gran believed in ghost writing and seeing the future in tea leaves. Mind you she was as mad as a bag of badgers (actually she wasn't she was lovely and the whole family grew up believing in that sort of stuff, it really upset me when she failed to come and visit after her death, thus proving perhaps that the dead don't rise and walk the Earth)
  3. I enjoy taking off and landing but the bit in between is purgatory
  4. Yes I used to shave every day because I thought I should show a presentable clean shaven face to my customers......now I don't really give a toss. Unfortunately it means that when I do finally get round to shaving it takes five times as long as it would do if I'd done it daily
  5. If some young woman is foolish enough to fall for "Spiros" whilst holidaying in Greece then more fool her if she really believes he isn't pulling the same trick with a different girl a week later
  6. Excellent news. Lets hope a few celebratory pints of the wonderful Bradfield beers are drunk tonight!
  7. I have decided to take a mental break after the last book so am going to revisit an old favourite, Agatha Christie and read Sparkling Cyanide
  8. Thats how I do my proper steaks, I usually render down a bit of the fat from the steak and fry it in that before sticking in the oven. The ones I have at the moment are too thin for that
  9. I have now finished "Snow" by Orhan Pamuk which was a beautiful book but which didn't really grip me. Its unfortunate that I seem to have less time nowadays to really immerse myself in a book. Hopefully without the distractions of work or SF for the next weeks I can get some quality reading done. Which one to read next though? I have 9 contenders sat on my bookshelves calling to me. In the past I've laid them on the carpet and tossed a coin in the air to see which one it lands on. Might have to do similar I think!
  10. My partner, the pub, eating, the toilet, a good book, Torchwood and The Colour of Magic this weekend.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions, the baked beef olives was just the sort of thing I had in mind but might save that suggestion for another day when I have company. I have some oven roasted veggies that I need to use up so I think I might flash fry some thin strips of beef with red pesto then add the veggies and some pasta. I've had a look in the fridge and there is also a jar of harrisa open which would make a pretty powerful marinade if I wanted to spice things up a bit. No doubt I'll get another couple of idea wandering around Tescos later on.
  12. I'm off and am taking the whole of next week off as well
  13. I can't even remember her in Atomic Kitten...for me she will always be the talentless fat one who did Iceland commercials
  14. It all depends on how the criticism is given. If it is meant kindly, as a developmental opportunity, by a trusted friend then its something to go away and think about. If its delivered in an aggressive manner by someone you have only just met then I'd be less likely to listen and take on board what they say. In fact I'd be more likely to punch them in the face
