  1. Two soldiers? Two cowards would have been a better description. Cos only cowards would pick on disabled people.
  2. Hi Bluefeline, I live in Gleadless Valley and I run a Voluntary Litter Picking Service called ''ELPS''. If you would like to join helps please go to; http://www.facebook.com/EscagobaElps You can also contact me at; http://www.facebook.com/groups/gvtar I'm hoping to hear from you soon. Brian Hanson.
  3. You simply join Facebook (membership is free and always will be). Once you've joined you create a business page for your business (that's free as well).
  4. I got really annoyed by Veola binmen dropping litter during bin collection days and then not picking up the mess they make I started a voluntary 'one man' litter picking service in the area where I live. My work has caught on well and now two more people join me regular picking up litter. We're now looking for ways we can make our service commercial. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
  5. Prices are about the same everywhere you go these days. As for Castle Market it's only fit for one thing; ''DEMOLISHING'', because it smells terrible and it's filthy. I'm surprised the Environmental Health Department allow it to stay open.
  6. And maybe if they started allowing passengers to use those ''SORRY NOT IN SERVICE'' buses fares might get lower because they'd be earning more money instead of wasting their deisel on empty buses.
  7. It'll turn out to be another costly White Elephant. Wait and see.
  8. Why don't you get together with a few likeminded business people and share a large office area? That way it won't cost you a bomb because you would each be sharing the cost of hire, rates etc...
  9. ESCADON'S work group 'ESCAGOSA' which organizes social activities for public enjoyment is planning a Notting Hill style Street Parade with the intentions of holding the parade in Gleadless Valley in the summer of 2014. To find out how many people would like to take part in the parade and also to form an 'Organizing Committee' which in community partnership with ESCAGOSA will be responsible for organizing the parade we are holding a 'Street Parade Public Meeting'. The meeting is on Thursday, 21 March 2013. Starting at 10.00 am and ending at 11.15 am. (Doors open at 9.30 am for light refreshments prior to meeting starting). The meeting is being held at the; 189 CENTRE (Gaunt Shopping Centre), Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, Sheffield, S14 1FX If you're interested and would like to help organize the parade or take part in it please attend this Public Meeting.
  10. I'm interested in knowing about 'JOB CLUBS' and whether or not they live up to unemployed people's expectations. Do Job Clubs really help to get you the job you want or do you end up having to go out and find/get the job yourself? Do Job Club staff really go out of their way to help you get a job, or do they just say they go out of their way to help you to make their business look goodie-goodie?
  11. EQUALITY - Hahaha, I'm forced to laugh because some Community Leaders in Sheffield don't understand the meaning of the word and until they do how can the city council ever expect Sheffield to become a 'FAIR' city? In my opinion the idea of making Sheffield a ''FAIRER CITY FOR ALL'' is one great idea that will never happen.
  12. Yes, the bus drivers are leaving the terminal at the correct times stated on their Timesheet. But they leave ''TEN MINUTES'' too early because their timesheets do not match the bus stop timetables. Hence the reason why people end up waiting for a bus that never turns up on time. Because it (the bus) passed their bus stop ''ten minutes'' earlier.
  13. I'm a Facebook Member and I think it would be far more 'worth it' if you got in to contact with Facebook directly and did business with them rather than do business with someone who's just posted a few emails. The email sender/s could be any old Tom, Dick or Harry out to 'take you for a ride'. Whereas everybody knows Facebook is a legitimate business!
  14. You can't rely on the Council services taking any rubbish away from your home. I'm a Council Tenant, I requested for two old televison sets to be taken out of my backyard for me and disposed of safely and lawfully. It's 6 months since I made that request, the television sets are still in my backyard.
  15. It's about time First Bus Company learnt how to run a bus service. On Saturday evening (12/01/13) I was due to meet a friend in the city centre at 7.00pm, so I made my way to Herdings bus terminal at 6.25pm to catch the 6.31pm bus. Unfortunately the bus never arrived at the terminal. At 6.45pm a number 48 bus arrived at the terminal. As I tried to enter the bus the driver informed me the bus was now 'Out of service'. This bus left the terminal at 6.50pm, but the bus stop timetable stated this bus wasn't due to leave until 7.01pm. At 7.15pm another number 48 bus arrived at the terminal and again I was told by th driver the bus was now 'out of service'. This bus left the terminal at 7.20pm, but the bus stop timetable stated it wasn't due to leave until 7.31pm. At 7.45pm another number 48 bus arrived at the terminal, luckily I was allowed to get on this bus. I asked the driver what time he would be leaving the terminal. The driver replied; ''7.50pm''. I asked the driver if he could explain his reason for leaving the terminal at 7.50pm when the bus timetable stated he wasn't due to leave until 8.01pm. The driver explained he was going by his timesheet. He showed me the timesheet and quite clearly it stated he had to leave the terminal at 7.50pm. After I told the driver about the previous two buses leaving the terminal ten minutes too early the driver laughed and said; ''Yes, they'd be going by their timesheet like me''. The problem is obviously clear now, the bus drivers' timesheets and the bus stop timetables do ''NOT'' match each other and this is why people stand ages waiting for a bus to arrive. When you think of how many bus stops there is in the city of Sheffield it must cost the First Bus Company a huge amount of money to have all the timetables printed. All that money wasted because the bus company haven't had the common sense to make sure the timetables match their drivers' timesheets. I bet a group of young children could run the bus service better!
