  1. Hi fishermanlee - there is a social group on Facebook that organises events and nights out around Sheffield. If you search for 'The Sheffield Social' on Facebook you should find it, or you can follow this link: https://www.facebook.com/thesheffieldsocial
  2. Hi kizzi! 'The Sheffield Social' Facebook group usually has a few events in the pipeline -you can check them out here: https://www.facebook.com/thesheffieldsocial
  3. Hi tigerlily - you could also check out the social group on Facebook - they organise loads of different events around Sheffield and newcomers are always welcome! The group is listed as 'The Sheffield Social': https://www.facebook.com/thesheffieldsocial
  4. Yes, that'll be the Sheffield Steel Rollergirls - as well as the Facebook link above, you can check out their website for more information: http://www.sheffieldsteelrollergirls.co.uk/
  5. Hi Craig12 A Sheffield artist called Mute recently had an exhibition at The Forum which had bright coloured paintings of actors from the 1980s - there are prints available online if you want to check them out: http://mute-art.com/
  6. How about a digital photo frame for something a bit different? You load up a selection of photos and you have the option to set a slideshow that changes throughout the day. As well as including the usual snaps, you could even take some photos of her favourite locations yourself to add a more personal touch.
  7. How about sending them each an 'I Love Sheffield' eco-bag? They're pretty light and can be folded up small for sending overseas - just the kind of thing that girls their age would love! I think they still sell them at The Design Studio on Ecclesall Road and in a couple of other places around Sheffield too: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=403423&highlight=design+studio
  8. Hi there, Can anybody tell me whether the red 'scaffolding' building in the centre of town is still currently the Embrace nightclub? - It's the building that used to be Kingdom. Thanks!
  9. Hi there, Just wondering whether anyone knows what happened outside Pasha/Costcutters on London Road yesterday afternoon/early evening? Part of the path was taped off with police taking statements and there were a few police cars and an ambulance parked outside. Thanks
  10. Here it is: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/8246197.stm
  11. That's so strange - I'd never heard about this before either, but then I read on BBC News about some hospital staff getting fired for playing the game on the night shift!
  12. The t-shirt place on London Road is called Shirt Prints Direct on 0114 2559000 - it is a few doors down from the Chinese Bakery
  13. I've found a couple of photos of good ol' Horace hanging around Sheffield on flickr - one in Endcliffe Park and on the photo stream there are a couple of others. I haven't made enough posts to put up a link, but if you Google 'Hungry Horace Endcliffe Park' it'll bring up the pictures. Aah nostalgia!
