I rang Excel Taxis for a cab from the Northern General to my home. The man there said they weren't picking up from some parts of the city, but I was lucky.

Did he own the Mojo Club in Sheffield? Sad news.

Barnsley postcodes S70 to S75. When I worked for Royal Mail, who give out the postcodes, I had a hand in it. Hope this helps.

The same thing happened to me at the Northern General last Monday. I was forty minutes late for my appointment, after trying to gt a parking space for half an hour. For me too, it's the bus in future. One of the car parks was only half full, but the attendant said it was for staff parking only.

Spiritualist Church - Club Garden Walk
Nigel Womersle replied to DerbyTup's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
I never went to the church, but I did meet Mr Turner. I also met a lovely lady from the church. Her name was Mrs Hickman, but we always called her Aunty Daisy. They came to our house, and it s amazing the things Mt Turner told us. His features seemed to change too. Of course this is many years ago,I was only a child, but the memory stays with me. -

Crampton and Moore still have a rather large shop at 109/11 High Street Ecclesfield. It's a good shop too.

Sheffield's nightclubs - do you remember...?
Nigel Womersle replied to Chris M's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
I saw Alan Price and Georgie Fame at the Cavendish Cub in 1967. If I remember rightly, the dance floor rose and became the stage.
