Which New Album Are You Looking Forward To Most This Year?
LittlestLass replied to LittlestLass's topic in Entertainment Chat
I second the comment about the Gorillaz album - currently my favourite album to have a bath to. The Dennis Hopper track is fantastic. -
Sheffield accent - do you like it?
LittlestLass replied to dilly's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I really love accents - I find them very sexy, but I particularly like the Sheffield accent. I even find the Brummie accent quite sexy despite the allegations that they sound "thick"... The thing I've always found fascinating is how people's accents change when they move into new areas. I'm from Chesterfield but have lived in Sheffield for the last 3 years and my accent has got noticeably stronger (without me consciously trying to change it). Bjork has one of the most entertaining accents. Icelandic mixed with cockney - weird combo. -
In which case, those building are either a lot bigger than they look, or it'll be the smallest H&M in the world! But still big enough to involve money parting company with my purse. *Sigh* I'll never be rich....
-
I'm confuzzled - are they opening an H&M in Fargate?! If so, my bank balance is going to suffer....
-
That's terrible. I can't believe that happened to you. I really hope that doesn't put you off going out again, because I've never had anything like that happen in Sheffield. A girl randomly spat at me in Nottingham once, but that's a different story....

How old are you? What was first record/cd you bought?
LittlestLass replied to BoppinBruce's topic in Entertainment Chat
I bought that as well, but then I'm 24 so was technically old enough to know better when it was released! The first 45 I remember owning was Nick Kershaw's "The Riddle" (which I still love - yes, I am sad) and the first 33 was Banarama's Greatest Hits. -
Underrated movies that turned out to be pretty good
LittlestLass replied to Sierra's topic in Entertainment Chat
I've been a teeny tiny bit in love with Giovanni Ribisi ever since he was in a episode of the X-Files with Jack Black. But my vote would go to Grosse Pointe Black - I adore that film. -
Who would be in the perfect band for you?
LittlestLass replied to igm1's topic in Entertainment Chat
Vocalist/Keyboards/Guitar/Trumpet - Scott Klopenstein (Reel Big Fish/The Littlest Man Band) Guitar/Vocals - Brian Klemm (Suburban Legends) Trombone - Dan Regan (Reel Big Fish/The Littlest Man Band) Trumpet - Vince Walker (The Littlest Man Band/Suburban Legends) Bass - Matt Freeman (Rancid/Operation Ivy) Drummer - Shutty (Ex Terrorvision) Bit of an odd combo (Bradford and Orange County!), but half of them have played together in bands before anyway, so they'd be great.... -
The skin is the best bit, but only if it's crispy - microwaved jackets are just plain wrong.

Books - What do you recommend? / What are you reading?
LittlestLass replied to scatterheart's topic in Entertainment Chat
I would agree that it is the most important bit, as it basically ties the whole book together, but in terms of entertainment I enjoyed other chapters more. -

I didn't like the Sonmi bit that much. It's interesting how everyone has a favourite section of the book. One thing I liked was trying to figure out how the next chapter would be related to the previous one - it was deviously clever in some parts (i.e. between Sonmi and Sloosha's Crossin') -

I'll never get fed up of reading 1984. Great book. -
That is the single most disgusting thing I've ever heard! I have to admit I'm a sniffer, but after reading that I think I'll be changing my ways!

I second that - it took me ages to get into that book, and I really wasn't that keen on the Adam Ewing bit. On the other hand, I could read an entire novel on Robert Frobisher's adventures.
