My mum worked in Banners China Departmnt. They put the money in little cylinders that was thn placed in a tube. The money went to the office they then sent the change back with a written receipt. They also had specail banners money called " Banners Cheques"

I lived on Oldhall road near the golden ball pub. Ther was a sweet shop across from there alled The Toffee Tin. Earnest wagstaff owned it. \my sister and we would get sixpence on a sunday teatime mum would take u to toffee tin to choose our sweets before we went home for a bath( in a tin bath in front of fire Brrrr

There was a little herbalist shop on the same road as the library. I remember the shelf with the littl pot barrels with different drinks in. there were three red lther stools at a high counter. i can remeber having a glss of saspirella
