Not many posts evoke an interest or a comment from me these days - but this one did! On the whole a very positive post but as per usual, some people are never happy! When you consider that (on the whole) we hear the expression "The High Street Is Dying" all too often and where I live (Eckington) that is very, very true. We once had 11 pubs, we now have 3 (and a battered WMC), we have one very small supermarket (which is over priced and badly stocked), the high street is a ghost town and there is vandalism aplenty, the streets are a mess and the council really don't care - and neither do the residents committees and associations that have all been set up and folded. Hillsborough and it's people are VERY lucky to have what they have, the streets are spotless, the planters are beautiful, the community spirit encouraged by Hillsborough Forum is quite something! I had the pleasure to walk round the walled garden, the memorial garden, the bowling greens (beautifully kept) and the park last week.......and I was blown away! There's nowhere I know where you can go from bustling hight street to tranquil park with a 200 yard walk! I've tried (and failed) to evoke a community spirit in Eckington where I live.......all I was met with was brick walls, red tape and out of date protocol. "Jobs for the boys" on the Parish Council and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I got a chance to meet with the Hillsborough Forum team and their enthusiasm and passion is infectious - so much so that I recently joined as a volunteer 3 times a week so I can do my bit. I have to say that as someone who suffers with depression quite badly, their positive attitude has helped me make giant strides HILLSBOROUGH FORUM - WELL DONE!!!!

Hard sofa - I was given the most beautiful looking chesterfield sofa - cost a chuffin fortune new (£800+) - just for the 3 seater......it like sitting on pebbles - it lasted a week and I ended up buying one from argos for £300 - which I still have.....quality not as good but more comfy! As for sneezing - my friends girlfriend went to the doctors....she said "doctor...everytime I sneeze....I have an orgasm"....the doctor said "are you taking anything for it?"....she said "yes....PEPPER" Cheap shoes or expensive shoes?

Embarassing names - I know quite a few people who would kill to be called "Dave Jones" or "john smith" Neutral or bright colours (if you were painting the inside of a house from scratch)
