  1. my sister lives on that road and loves it, always seem quiet, never any trouble
  2. Mia leigh, as you will be under occupying by 1 bedroom, if you are on housing benefit you will lose 14% of your NET rent . if you are not on housing benefit (pay full rent) then the charge does not affect you. You say your child needs its own room, if you get DLA and have supporting medical evidence of the fact that your children cannot share a room then you MAY be exempt from the charge. Speak to housing benefits or your rents officer. If you do have to pay the charge and are struggling with it you can apply for a discretionary housing payment towards the shortfall in your benefit, this can be done on line at sheffield.gov.uk

  13. try to get a mutual exchange with someone in a 2 bedroomed property who wants to down size. it could be difficult depending on where you live and where you want to go. There are also sometimes 2 bedroomed properties on the property shop with reduced eligibility ( i.e. single person can bid for a 2 bed - maybe on the first come first serve page) but these don't come up often. However if you are on housing benefit there will be a 14% of the net rent reduction in yout housing benefit as you would be classed as under occupying. You could then look into claiming a discretionary housing payment towards the shortfall, this is means tested -so would be based on your income/expenditure
  14. try to get help with the bedroom charge by applying for a discretionary housing payment. this can be done on line at sheffield.gov.uk - it is means tested
