  1. Wood lane by any chance in Brinsworth? if so they didnt play deaf and blind when the floods happened last year, only time they hav ever decided to have cars there all the time stopping traffic using the one road that was passable
  2. as many people will use a tram stop at magna as will use the new stupid cycle lane leading to rotherham
  3. Apprently the reason behind the 0% alcohol ban is "because people will become familiar with the brand and this will lead them to drinking alcohol from that brand" (SCC councillor on Radio Sheffield) So by that steps of separation if i buy an electric car then this will lead me to buy a diesel car after by the same brand but Electric cars can be advertised and hybrids cant
  4. I think Toby summed it up on his show this afternoon "Are they stopping serving alcohol in places like the City Hall? Are they stopping supporting reopening Doncaster airport? Are they going to stop taking business rates from places like McDonalds and BurgerKing? No? oh just virtue signalling then"
  5. This is the list of content and or brands not allowed to be advertised any more Discrimination against any individual or group on the basis of any protected characteristic detailed in the Equality Act 2010 Weapons or illegal drugs or products Sexual or pornography orientated entertainment materials or products Tobacco and related products E-cigarettes / vaping Permitted only if advert is part of a stop smoking campaign, featuring a product that is not owned or part-owned by the Tobacco Industry Gambling or betting products, services or organisations Fossil fuels All firms and associated sub-brands or lobbying organisations that extract, refine, produce, supply, distribute or sell any fossil fuels Airlines & airports Content which might reasonably be deemed to promote more flying Cars – content promoting petrol, diesel and hybrid electric plug-in vehicles Foods and drinks that are high in fat, salt and/or sugar (HFSS) as defined by the Department of Health and Social Care’s nutrient profiling model. HFSS food and drink brands or those synonymous with, including food ordering services, where no food or drink product is featured directly Brands/companies synonymous with HFSS foods and drinks Breast or infant milk formulas not in accordance with the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes, or involves companies who produce or promote infant formula, other infant milks, bottles and teats, and foods marketed as suitable before 6 months of age Alcoholic drinks and low/zero alcohol drinks from brands synonymous with alcohol Loan advancers which meet the Financial Standards Authority’s definition of ‘High Cost Short Term (HCST)’ The strange one is the baby milk one. there was a councillor on Radio Sheffield this morning trying to say that this would help mothers make a healthy choice when feeding their babies.
  6. There were 3 in the space of a few weeks in London at turn of the year. one happened just while in a garage This is footage of one setting alight in paris last year. How long do you think you woull have to get out if the one you were on caught fire
  7. From the councils policy 2.1 Advertising, for the purposes of this policy, is defined as a transaction between the Council and an external organisation in which the organisation can display informative and/or persuasive content about its products, services, causes or ideas in/on Council assets in exchange for a previously agreed financial sum. Under the new policy if the organisations/private enterprises wish to advertise on SCC facilities then it must meet the policy guidelines as laid out. All of the events i listed would fail if the organisors approached the council to advertise on their billboards. The Sheffield Grand Prix is co sponsored by SCC so is not a private enterprise With regard to The Snooker, Sheffield by the Seaside and Tramlines then i would suggest clause 2.1.1 comes into effect b) those channels where the Council acts as landlord or operator, but which may be managed for the Council under transparent and tendered agreements. The council is the landlord for the venues are they not? So the enterprises ar eadvertising on council land and would come under the same terms Try not to be sound too condescending with the "nice try though". You are representing Sheffield Forum. Just an observation
  8. Does this mean SCC wont be doing any promotion for the following in 2024? The World Snooker Championships sponsored by Cazoo so would be promoting petrol diesel and hybrid cars which is against their new policy? Tramlines as their promotional materials advertise Alcohol (Thatchers and Brewdog) which is against their new policy Sheffield Grand Prix part sponsored by McClaren (Cars) and Brown Bar (Alcohol) which is against their new policy Sheffield by the Seaside - Has stalls promoting unhealthy food which is against their new policy
  9. with the resultant carbon costs required to build the infrastructure, the energy costs associated with them but hey not seeing a petrol car on a bill board or Owlerton getting advertised is going to make Sheffield healthier and cleaner is it b****
