  1. Luckily for my friend this little one has returned home thank goodness. :-)
  2. This is a piccy of my friend's missing budgie
  3. Whatever one you use DON'T use Hermes the last parcel we sent via Parcel2Go used Hermes and the delightful delivery driver threw our parcel over a 6 ft gate - item is now damaged beyond repair and Hermes won't even accept responsibility :-(
  4. Thanks everyone, we are there for a couple of days so we might give all those suggested a try :-) :-)
  5. Personally both hubby and I LOVE Scarborough, we also like Whitby and Filey but Scarborough is our favourite. Never really fancied Blackpool always sounded far too commercialised for us.
  6. Ooh thanks, Outdoors. Have googled and found one called Whackers lol some have really funny names, but it's always nice to try and get some recommendations for places. Going there to celebrate 10th wedding Anniversary :-)
  7. Going to Scarborough on Thursday this week and was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best or nicest fish and chips there before we trawl the various options ourselves on the day?????
  8. I too only come on this forum now very rarely, but I remember reading lots of lovely stories about him when I used to have a look and post in here all the time. So sorry to hear of his passing! you must feel like a piece of you is missing and that will never go away, but, the sadness will start to lessen a little bit each day until it becomes a bearable part of your life. He was such a lucky dog to be a part of your family and to be so well loved. RIP Brude, shining as a bright star in the heavens now. :-(
  9. Haven't got a wood burning stove nor have I a coal burning fire which would account for the dust if I did. I don't believe it's human skin thank you very much :-) it's dust that comes in from outside blown in from god knows where, but it's just the fact that it has been getting worse over the last few years. When I first moved here there was hardly any and I only needed to dust about once a week!!! Now it's every flippin day!!! And I've lived in a few cities - thankfully cleaner than this one lol A friend who lives the other side of the city to me says she gets the same and is forever dusting cos it just comes in so much!
  10. I moved here to Sheffield over 7 years ago. When I first lived here I found that hardly any dust from outside ever came into the house, it was lovely - but in the last 2 years or so there has been a constant and irritating influx of dust managing to get into my house from the outside. It gets everywhere, and within 2 days of dusting to get rid of the bleddy stuff it's back in thick layers again. What causes it and where does it come from??? FFS. It's now getting to the point where I don't want to live here anymore - this is now the dirtiest city I have ever lived in!!!!!!!! Rant over
  11. Does anybody know if there are any vets which have cheap cat neutering schemes at the moment for people on a not fantastic income. Unfortunately I don't work so there is only hubby's wage coming in. I don't get any benefits, am unable to claim jobseekers allowance, have at least 4 maybe more years before I can claim a pension, don't get housing benefit nor do we get tax credits or any other kind of benefit going! But need to get this little cat I rescued off the street 2 month ago sorted as he has not been claimed by any owner so he will be remaining with our clan as he has made himself well at home here and wormed his way into our hearts.
  12. He's not microchipped, which isn't a surprise really as he isn't neutered either :-)
  13. Update on this little fella, no owner has come forward to claim him and as virtually all rescues or shelters are full to bursting with abandoned ones, we have decided to keep him. Well it was a no brainer really, as he has settled in here really well and is such a lovely little kitty. He has also bonded really well with my 2 other cats, so we have called him Spud and next on the agenda will be to arrange the removal of his pair of very large plums :-)
