jobdrop replied to bigcheese's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
I looked in to a lot of them schemes and all that I saw were a complete scam, if you want to work from home you will probably have to take a risk and try and setup you own business. -
Experience with Recruitment Agencies
jobdrop replied to LoobyLou18's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
You have to convince the agencies that you are willing and avaible for work when they need you, but clearly these ones aren't working so register with a few more. Also sometimes a CV they have had for longer is not viewed very often so make sure you keep in touch with them!!! -

What sort of job are you looking for and what sort of experience do you have, you need to know what you want and what you can do before potential employers will take you seriously. -
First Class Degree- Cant get a job
jobdrop replied to westons's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
The most important thing is to supplement your degree with pratical experience, your degree will start to pay off after a few years in a job (you should start to move up the ladder quicker) but to start with you need to start at the bottom. Keep looking start in a company that you want to work for in the long term and then try and move up within the company. Good luck!! To all you graduated students -
With OTE the most important thing it to find out the basic salary and what the average earnings of the current employee's is. If you are relativley inexperienced in sales or new to the field they specialize in then this figure will probably be more than you would earn. The best advice is ask as many questions as possible!!

Be memorable, that's the biggest problem most companies want somebody that will have a positive impact on their team, so show them what you are about!

Job forums for the local area
jobdrop replied to clipboard's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
What exactly are you looking for? Becuase it depends on the type of job you are trying to advertise, some do better in the local papers and others do better in on the internet. -
Any ex-Holiday Reps out there?
jobdrop replied to citychick's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
Hi there shuwarrior51 is right, I know it might sound a bit silly but you need to list the things that you are good at then list the things that you enjoy and then find out which jobs have these sort of skills and activities. Remember you will not get the job that you love unless you can offer the employer something in return. -
