  1. If it screams when you rev your engine then its merely your fan belt but replace it soon or it will run your battery down, a nice guy should be able to do that for you, there is really no such thing as an automatic tensioner as it only has a set degree of boundaries to tension within. They all wear out eventually, its only a band of rubber that moves the part and the idiot who sets the tension in the first place knows that the rubber is going to wear down. I can't see it but the cheapest option is a new belt from what you describe pulled to the corect torque before fastening it and I don't need to quote it, just what a medium sized guy can do with effort.... the worst case scenario could be your thrust bearind to scream but that is to do with your clutch and much more expensive. I doubt it though. Fan belt, Change and Labour, buy the fan belt yourself from a motor factors yourself simply by going in and quoting what you want for what model, some of them can actually tell you the problem. Don't buy the part there and then, ask friends and family about someone who can undertake the job, if you can't do it yourself then when you can find someone who can then you only have to negotiate a price to fit the part. I would do that 20min job for free myself but I don't know the problem to assume that would be the cure. Just don't drive it to increase the problem anymore till you've got it fixed as it might end up costing you more. Don't do it cos you will notice it. After all that worry, if it calms down when the engine is warm, tis, does sound like the fan belt to me. renew it and put plenty o WD40 over the bolt joins before you tighten them up and never put it on the rubber, I can really only suggest you see your family, otherwise pm me and I can direct you toward to other people who would not want to be mentioned here but would help you out and a lot nearer.
  2. Another mod gone for no realistic reason. Well done you oil barons.
  3. I think as long as you keep driving a V3CTRA. You are going to be continually disappointed after the 02 reg as they were made in Germany wholly after that.... :hihi:
  4. BT anonymous call reject means that you will never recieve an incoming from someone dialling through a "bank" such as a hospital, Police or any other Authority who depend on multiple phone links. Unless the number they are dialling from from can't be substantiantly proven and sent to you (IE you can page it through 1471 or look it up on caller I.D.) then you will never get the call, the maker of the conversation will merely be told you are not accepting unrecognised numbers. They can choose to dial 1470 in front of their number to you to leave a trace if they think you should contact them. So on the whole If someone cannot leave their number, then you shouldn't try to contact them back. Who's after you?.
  5. Timo, I don't think I'm surprised by your onslaught about something you really know nothing about, I have friends and family in Birkenhead and not all of it is bad you know, the town centre is not so good at a weekend but then again what densely populated area is when mixed with drink? You mention an American sociologist as being profound on the rights and wrongs in the behaviour of people in Birkenhead being shunted from one council estate to the other, well there is only one council estate in Birkenhead, known affectionately as the "North End" and there was only ever the one, Oak and Elden Gardens a ghetto like you will find in most inner city/Town areas was knocked down in the 70's and only the North End remains even though 75% has been knocked down and the remainder of slums house immigrants. The other obvious two targets would be the Ford Estate (now known as The Beechwood Estate) and the Woodchurch Estate which over the last 20yrs have undergone immense regeneration and I would estimate now that over 60% of people own their own homes on them and have a valid reason to look after them. You see what you are failing to realise is that just because Birkenhead was a port economy, it made the change very successfully and commanded a wealth of investment, Birkenhead isn't poor or uneducated, it just has its fair share of idiots just like anywhere else, you cannot condemn a Town on the basis of one action alone. I feel for the poor guy who was attacked but I don't think it was anything to do with his dress as in every person who visits Birkenhead as a Goth is going to meet the same end, a few idiots picked on someone, full stop. I hope they are caught. This could happen anywhere. What are your views on Sheffield, London, Glasgow, Swansea, Liverpool, Manchester etc? are they full of chavs as well and are chavs the problem?, you see from what I have read of your posts it's either the fault of immigrants or chavs for all the ills. You cannot demonise a majority for the behaviour of an ethnic or an indiginous person associated with an area, that would be true folly after all aren't immigrants shunted around from council estate to council estate? You are steeped in history and why did our fore fathers fight two world wars for freedom? to uphold what is right. Individual justice and freedom within the law. You should visit Birkenhead one day and then re-assess your attitude toward the unemployed underclass and see what they really do and as for attacking lone people en masse, well I don't think you will never meet nicer people except from the odd itiots as this poor guy did on this occassion. Now. I believe that you reign in Southport, Part of Merseyside, governed by Sefton Council, your elected member being John Pugh MP of the Liberal Democrats who at the moment is campaigning on law and order because you seem to have a lack of it. Apparently street crimes are rife and it is no longer too safe to stroll down Lord Street or the Promenade at night, as it used to be, you never had a sea port so you had to rely on your whits and beckon anyone in who would fill your coffers in the season, so you relied on the trade from the halfwhits you despise to sustain your economy and when the money was gone, look at them down the barrel of a gun. That is my opinion from known knowledge not a book. Do you not think that someone dressed as a Goth would not be succeptible to a similar attack in Southport or is that just an unforgiving thought? You certainly have more chavs there than Birkenhead, your town imports them out of neccessity, you need their giro's more than Birkenhead does which incidentally is in the Cheshire boundary, their insurance is less than you will pay, surely that means something if nothing to you. You were once an impartial poster when I sat on the sidelines and you have changed so much, you once imparted good advice and now you seem to attack everything you don't understand. You are so wrong on this occassion. That is my opinion. Thankyou for reading this.
  6. That was a very kind and thoughtful post Godzilla (should change your name), someone made a difference in your life when you needed it most and it was very nice and reassuring to everyone that you shared that experience. The problem with what you read today in the media is that they fail on the whole to mention the good things and so minimalise them against the bad which is what sells news. For every ship that sets sail, only one in a handful fails to return and that is what you hear about, you never read daily about a ship coming into harbour safetly on a daily basis as that would be useless news. I think that if you have been shown kindness then you are much more able to show it and in turn you have decided to help others. That's nice. I wish you well and I wish there were a few more posts like this instead of, I'm due or want. I hope you are happy now.
  7. Keep your rod well hidden from the fish untill you are ready to strike then.
  8. Sidla, you are a sensitive and decent bloke, a quality hard to find in most fellows these days, I know its not much in compensation to say that she is missing out but you have to accept that her feelings for you are not mutual. All the thoughts running around in your head at the moment will make you feel somewhat irrational but moving away and the likes of those thoughts only mean that you are going to take your feelings with you wherever you go, they will not fade or abate until you are willing to let them go. I genuinely feel for you and I am sorry that on this occasion your feelings were not reciprocated. I would suggest that you put a berth between the two of you for a while to give you some time to think whether you can simply be friends or your emotions are too strong to accept this. She may very well date someone else in the future and this may add to your pain, I don't want to see a decent person like you hurt any more than you are already, so think with your head and not with your heart, be strong as I believe you are and turn the next page. You never know what is around the corner and there is most definitely someone out there for all of us, it just happens when we least expect it. I hope everything works out for you.
  9. I was under the impression that its illegal to deal in tortoises these days, they are a protected and endagered species.
  10. Its a pity that there arent more facilities for kids to use but Id rather them kicking a football around than some helpless pensioner.
  11. I play with my mini submarine and battery operated speed boat, my other half thinks there is something wrong with me but I can make out the familiar buzzing noise when she takes a bath.
  12. oops. In that case it would have to be Chester.
  13. Moderators, I protest at this posting by redrobbo, I believe him to be a Labour candidate and to take such a cheap swipe at this time is well below the belt, in fact it is well out of order, I thought only the gutter press stooped to this level. If this was truly sent as a pm then it should have been forwarded to the admin team not used as personal football to discredit someone at will, pm's are a private affair and so the reciever is just as bad for posting it in the first place, I wouldn't trust that individual. I would have to think very long and hard before giving you my vote redrobbo after your actions even though I have been a member of the Labour party all my life. Shame on you.
  14. I would second that statement, especially after reading a good many posts, whoever a representative of a party chooses to stand for He should be respected for doing so. If people dont like it then they have a say on the day of polling, I too think Roy James is more of a man than some on here and its not too hard to pick them out by some of the comments either.
