  1. Tonight to celebrate world prematurity day the fountains will be purple , with Jessop wing choir and frozen characters helping to celebrate the babies who are born too early, pop by and meet some of the little miracles from 4-6pm at the peace gardens
  2. Not having chance to read all the comments on here at this moment in time I just think people should be aware that abuse can occur in any place-village, town, etc in any street by any person from any walk of life. The cases you see on the news are the high profile ones, not the girl or boy that may live next to you in a respectable or cash strapped household. It's more newsworthy when it seems to be organized large scale abuse which has recently been the Asian gangs which makes it seem like they are the deviants on society... This abuse can be perpetrated by anyone regardless of colour, race, age... But it's not so newsworthy if it's one child in a long protracted abusive relationship and these are ultimately the people who want protecting.. This is the bottom line really, every victim needs help x
  3. Titanic spa in Huddersfield is good if you can get a 2 for 1 overnight spa package... It's an old mill with apartments
  4. I paid for my parents to do the tour and they said the guide was in his 70's and full of knowledge but as someone else said its a work in progress. I've loaded the black diamonds book onto my kindle since they did the tour so looking forward to reading that

  7. We had a zafira for 3 years and it needed the EGR valves replacing twice and two alternators, it was a recognised fault in the newer zafira ( ours was a 56 plate I think) but vauxhall didn't recall them. Was told that we needed to give the car a fair few miles on a motorway regularly to clean the valves ... When the handbrake cable snapped and the gearbox went we decided to cut our losses and get rid of it ..... Good luck !
  8. We have a ford S-Max car from car motion and have been satisfied with it .... It was reasonably priced because it had high mileage because it was an ex-company car, which I think is what most of car motions cars are, but full service history etc, we knew what we were getting for the money and the cars' a good runner ... Far better than the low mileage zafira we bought previously that cost us a fortune and had endless money spent on it in repairs and replacement parts I take back what I say ... 18 months after we bought the car it's needing a new turbo and we were stupid enough to take the extended warranty they offered " for peace of mind"..... That's not worth the paper it's written on as the company VGS have every get out clause they can and refuse to pay out so wouldn't touch them with a barge pole !
  9. Hi my sons are in y11 and y9 in September and it's black no logo shoes generally and anything but black for PE .... It's a bit of a job getting plain black shoes - I've had to use permanent black marker on soles with stripes before now.

  13. We're just going through the process of seeing if we can have free solar panels from "a shade greener" but I suspect there's no such thing as a free system ... will see what happens as they have just accepted us but we are waiting to see if there is any cost... google them
  14. There's a charity fun day to raise the profile of CLIC Sargent, who help families who have children dealing with cancer and it's also in aid of Ben O'Brien ( Beno) a child who attends Ecclesfield Primary who is currently having treatment for cancer. It's 12-3pm on Saturday 2nd April and includes various stalls, an auction and a raffle with many great prizes. Please drop by and show your support if you can spare the time, my sister and her friends have worked very hard to make the day a success for their childrens' classmate Ben x
