  2. wouldnt that be a rissole....? yorkshire fishcakes- a layer of fish, sandwiched between 2 slabs of potato, battered then fried till crspy golden brown!! yum yum!! On another note, I work 2 minutes from the GB chippy (or what was), tried them once, and never went back, absolutely the worst chippy I have ever used, we usually use Woodseats, absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!!
  3. Sorted, now, it was Jacksons Convenience Stores, its all coming back now, thanks Me-and Pippo, we got the colours right, being green and blue after a google search, they were bought out by Sainsburys! We were both right but both wrong!! lol
  4. Me and the missus are having a slight disagreement as to what was situated on the site of the Sainsburys Local store, Truro Works Liberty Street, nr the old No Frills decorating place (now DFS) nr the Royal Standard Pub. HELP shes driving me crazyyyyyyyyyy!! Not saying what we think it was though, we are waiting to see if any forummers come up with what each other thinks it was............... We are talking within the last 15 yrs! ---------- Post added 21-01-2015 at 22:41 ---------- SAINSBURYS LOCAL, lol, my bad in title!! the missus is sooooo picky!!
  5. Theres a new Barnardos Donation Centre, next door to the Tesco Express on Abbeydale Rd, just after the the Old Abbeydale Picture House, they will take anything, I called in to ask as we had some furniture we wanted rid of if they could collect it. They wont take, like a few people have already mentioned, beds/settees/matresses without a fire safety label, white goods (fridges/freezers/cookers/washers, etc), but will just about take anything else there. They can arrange for collection or delivery of your furniture, but not always immediately, as they only have 2 drivers who have to cover most of the SY area. And they're always wanting furniture Their number is 2582550
  6. take a few Lira, but remember the £10 VISA FEE, Must be a £10 note PER PERSON, and not a £20 note for 2 persons. Best bet is to take your £Sterling with you, and exchange it over there, as we found we got a better deal as the Turks seem to love it
  7. Agreed, she wasnt my most favourite of politicians, I was just a teen lad when she took over as PM, but yes, she has passed away, please have some respect for her family. How would you like it if people started slagging off your mum after she had passed just because they didn't like her or how she did things?
  8. I've just had one fitted to my 03 Scenic, its a Witter Tow Bar with single electrics. Towsure quoted me £217, A1 quoted me £195 and MTS never even bothered getting back to me, and when I sent an email to CCC, Fred actually RANG me the following morning and SPOKE to me! He quoted me £160 for the Basic Tow Bar and £175 for a Witter, so I opted for the Witter. Took in at 10am, he said it would be ready for 11:30am, went to do a bit of chrimbo shopping and when we went back to fetch the car, he said it was ready and all done, and had been since 11:00!! Excellent professional and extremely nice chaps! I deffo recommend them Give Fred a ring, he's been fitting towbars for almost 25 yrs!
  9. Mine is free............... Its called "Watchtower" PMSL :gag: :hihi:
  10. yep, they quoted me over a £1200 for my car insurance, I'm 42, 5yrs NCB (6 next month!) 1999 V Megane Scenic, no mods etc. etc Went to Tesco- £59 a month, fully comp, got seperate breakdown cover for just under £54 for the year with AXA MIL uses AA, said they're the worst ever when it comes to helping with repair payments, told her to bin 'em and get it seperate!!
  11. bring em to mine, chuck em in my drier for £2.00 till they're done and i'll even chuck in a cuppa with a choc chip cookie, (if my little 'un hasn't eaten 'em all!!) :hihi:
  12. I had someone claim off my insurance a couple of years ago for personal injury as "a result of a road side collision" What a crock of BS. I was reversing into a marked parking bay, doing approx 5mph, if that, when this tosser came zooming up the street, and we clipped wing mirrors. He stopped about 100 yards up the road and walked down to inspect the damage to my vehicle, which there wasn't any, as the mirrors just clipped, mine was fine, not even out of place, and started ranting and raving about the damage I had caused (his front bumper wasnt exactly hanging off, but to me it looked like perhaps a clip had broken, or a screw was needed, it was scratched and scuffed, BOTH wing mirrors were missing on his car, which was a "tad untidy" shall we say!. (a toyota yaris sport iirc, i have a megane scenic). (Damage probably around £10 (if that) for a couple of wing mirrors from the scrapyard and a 2 minute job to tighten/replace the bumper clip) There was no damage to my vehicle whatsoever. (I did take photo's of both vehicles and close up of the damage to his car, there wasn't even any noticable paint transfer on mine)but he claimed I had done all the damage to his vehicle. I never bothered getting his insurance details as I didn't think I needed to claim, (more fool me, now!) but I gave him mine. I then found out from my insurance company, that he'd claimed just over £800, stating personal injuries due to the so-called collision, and I was deemed to be at fault.(it also transpired that this was his second claim for a similiar kind of "accident" in 2yrs, and he was only 22. Damn Whiplash, I should have claimed for me, my missus and my little girl who were all present at the time. God help him and his insurance costs!
  13. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :D  We have bought our caravan!!!!!! Its not much to look at from the outside, but its beautiful inside. Let me tell ya, ok so its a little old, its a Sprite Alpine SV, 3 berth, 1982, 15ft long including the A-Frame (towing hitch), Unladen 690kg and Fully Laden is just under 850kg, so my car (1.6) can pull it no probs It has with it: a FULL Bradcott Awning and Groundsheet, 2 adult, 1 child's fold up deck chairs, FOLDING TABLE AND SEATS, fridge, 2 ring burner and grill, electric water pump, waste AND fresh water carriers, porta-loo,1 full gas bottle, and 1 half full, towing hitch lock, wheel clamp, step, electrical hook up cable, and an adapter to plug into house hold mains, 240V lights and mains sockets, built in tubular heater, outside light, spare wheel with brand new tyre on, tv aerial and fittings, plates, cups, cutlery, we went to view yesterday after looking at a few unacceptable ones, so wasn't getting our hopes up on this one! We fell in love straight away, its been re-upholstered and re-furbed inside with matching curtains and fabrics, new beige carpet, its beautifully clean, no damp, or moist or leaks or rot, this van is beautiful from the inside, but a little dated, nothing a spruce up wont cure on the outside. Not only this, but as we cant tow it (no tow bar on our car, we were hoping to get a family member to tow it, but that wasn't to be), the lovely chap said if we could wait until the weekend he'd tow it onto our drive for us!! So we paid a small deposit, got a written receipt and all that and tootled off home EXTREMELY HAPPY. Wow, and the best bit? It cost me £450!!! :wow:
  14. I'd second Skeg Water Leisure Park, always go there with the family, camping but now looking to start caravanning, nice site, nice on site pub, bus stop is round corner, its 60p one way per adult to Pleasure Island. (Last one back from Pleasure Island is about 25 past 11) Lovely place especially with the water ski and large fishing lakes, I'ts £17 per night, with electrical hook up an extra £4 per night
  15. Thanks Fred Criteria slightly changed now after doing more research. Went to see a 'van yesterday, was what we were looking for, weight and size (or so we thought!) but to be honest, it wasn't upto much. The gas heater and the fridge had been removed, so had the sink in the washroom and it had no toilet and no running water as the pump had also been removed. Basically, it was just a 2 ring burner a double bed and a single. Like a shell really, and it was £450!! I decided it wasn't what we were wanting, so decided to have a look at some 2 berths, rather just limiting ourselves to 3/4 berths. So now we are open to 2 berth, as what we have seen the large double bed can easily accomodate 2 adults an a 5 yr old!! (and they look better and some of them actually look bigger!) S now open to 2 berth, with around a 900KG MGW and around 16ft with an increased budget of around £600- TOP END, but if the right van came along, for this price would have to have everything (toilet, water/waste carrier, fridge, heater, electrical hook-up cable, stabaliser, etc!)
