  1. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary currently have a four year old male Samoyed dog in their kennels waiting for a new home. They are supposed to be good as they only malt once a year. I was very tempted!
  2. Hi. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any rescues or animal charities which might possibly want the following: - A number of animal feeding bowls (all plastic) - A bag of jumble sale/carboot type stuff - A large bag of old blankets and towels - A bag of assorted jackets and jumpers - Cat picture greeting cards (assorted messages) Thanks, Jess
  3. Hi Angellic - genuine thanks for the feedback. Wow that's a lot of research! If you have it available then I would really appreciate seeing the study you carried out - I can PM you my email if you could possibly send it me as it would obviously save me a lot of time! I have only just recently found out the benefits of the dry food types and am still experimenting - however I have found that using Royal Canin has improved a lot of our breed-specific issues. However, saying that obviously if another brand is better then I would certainly like to look into changing over to it. Thanks very much in advance.
  4. I would try Royal Canin if I was you - larger pet shops should carry samples. It's brilliant. I wouldn't feed mine anything else.
  5. Hi. I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give me about who to take a broken TV to. I have a 32inch flat screen HD-ready TV that I bought only a couple of months ago. However we have moved since then, and in the process seem to have lost the receipt and also possibly bumped the TV too as it certainly isn't working now! As we bought it cash we have no form of proof to be able take it back to the shop. So, our options are to either claim on the insurance for a new one or to get the old one fixed. A couple of people have mentioned the £50 mark for repairs which beats our insurance excess! So, I just need to know if anyone has any recommendations now? The issue with it is that the picture fades completely to a totally black screen a few minutes after you turn it on. The sound works fine still though. Thanks for any help you can offer.
  6. Hi. Back to the mobile phone thing - my partner works in the pub trade and he often find mobiles left behind at the end of busy nights. By the time he finds them though (as they've usually made their way down the back of the sofas and aren't found until the morning when the cleaners come!) the owners have blocked the phones making it impossible for him to find out who the owner is. Although they get left in a lost and found box, after a few weeks it's obvious the owner isn't coming back. So, my question is, can these phones be sent off for the benefit of RainRescue? If so it's something I can get the other half to mention at Pub Watch meetings to try and raise some more cash!
  7. Hi. Just a bit of personal feedback on this subject - we moved house with our three year old cat and he hated it and began to get very ill. After the vet had suggested various sprays, pills and therapists we realised that he missed the neighbourhood cats from the old area. We found a six month old kitten in a local rescue and although they have spats, George is so much happier and healthier! (We got a girl rather than another boy as we thought that might be too much trouble with them fighting for dominance.) Just make sure that you fuss the old boy first, feed him first, etc. so that the new cat learns she can't bully him. There'll always be time in the future for her to get a little minion to bully once the old boy is out of the picture as it were. Good luck with it.
  8. Hi KoiKeeper. I live in maltby and this is very frightening as I have two cats. Let me know if you need a hand leafleting or anything. I certainly will be keeping mine in from now on. Have you contacted the Advertiser and the police?
  9. Can I post a thread on the Pet Owners area asking if anyone knows if a rescue needs a cage of that kind or is that not okay to do? I just don't want it to go to a carbooter - I'd rather someone who needs it gets it.
  10. Sorry rutlandstaff,I know that your trying to do good a deed but you cannot advertise anything other than live animals in the group, please repost in the classifieds area of the forum.
  11. Wanted - new back door to be supplied and fitted We are ready for a new back door as ours had about had it. Ideally we would like a double glazed unit - don't care what colour or design, particularly but we do need to have a cat flap hole cut into it. We can supply the cat flap. Looking forward to some quotes. Jess
  12. Hello. Has anyone used Direkt Optiks in Rotherham? I know they have an offer at the moment where, if you know anyone else who's used them, you both get £20 of M&S vouchers. I was wondering if it was worth doing or if you have to fight to get the vouchers/get bombarded with spam mail? Thanks, Jess
  13. Huang Lou Xing 0114 232 5046 have the most amazing deals and always taste great.
  14. If you want to try long haired cats I have one who is in desperate need of a bath and trim but I don't have tough enough arms!!! I can bring him to you or you could come to us in Maltby if you fancy it. There's def a market for that too as I can't find anywhere to get him done! x
  15. What's the deal on Friday night then? Is it going ahead? I can't wait!
