  1. I have to say I commute with one of Decathalon's Rockriders and it's tough going. The weight of the bike, even though it's hardtailed, coupled with the chunky tyres makes the uphill slogs tough. I'm in the market for a road bike, something with a more comfortable riding position than MTBs offer. Wouldn't change the MTB though, great for throwing myself down mountains and though rough terrain. Never been able to fault a Decathalon bike tbh!
  2. I don't think it's a bad idea. If it helps manitain the park what harm is 40p/per hour? The car park is about 80% empty most of the time anyway, except match days or when there's events on. If it stops people parking on roads it can only be a good thing! And if you are really sore about it, just park in the free Co-Op car park and stop moaning.
  3. I'm at Tramways 54, the one on the left. I think the one on the right is 54A? Anyway, just registered there a few weeks ago. Phoned at 0820 and got an appointment right away and then booked in for three weeks for a general new patient medical with no trouble. I suppose it does depend on if you can get an appointment. Although I suppose if it's a serious illness then there's always teh Sheffield walk-in or the hospital. I do like Tramways though, everyone i've spoken to has been really welcoming.
  4. A requirement would be an iron stomach. Or should that be steel stomach?
  5. Oh no! SD has used that word! *whispers* pushbike! Let battle commence...
  6. http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/ Is it not accessible on here?
  7. Have to say our local postie is very good. We live in a block of four flats with two different entrances and, after a couple of weeks of confusion, the postman learned which names went to which flat. The mail comes after one most days, but it's not a major inconvenience. It's more annoying getting old resident's posts:suspect:
  8. We actually made our own. Bought some card and crafty stuff from Hobbycraft and made them. Most expensive thing we bought was the ink pad for the 'wedding invitation' stamp. 60 invites cost about £25 in total. Not doing the extra 40 evening ones though - they can have shop-bought ones!
  9. Oh. Like I said, never noticed! Everytime we go though we always get too much. Been meaning to try Golden City on Holme Lane because it's much closer. Anyone ever been there?
  10. The parks department do provide us a service. I'm not sure where you were trying to hire a space but maybe they had reservations on it meaning they couldn't give it to you. Otherwise spaces to rent tend to be booked up quite far in advance, allotments, parking spaces etc. So in actual fact, they're providing the best service they can.
  11. I cycle to and from work everyday. I have been doing so for about three months now. And I have to say, surpisingly, the isolated incident of inconsiderate driving I have seen was when a chap at the Premier shop junction on Herries Rd pulled out and zipped across the road as I was coming uphill. He was on his phone and driving like a maniac, so I put that down to him being a fool not me offending him with my bike. Other than that, it's all been very civil! So far....
  12. How long is a piece of string? I generally go with the 'handful' approach to measuring portions. Handful of chips. Handful of veg or two and whatever the main foodstuff is. Of course I suppose it depends on the size of your hands...
  13. For a whole YEAR. Surely the Parks Dept. wouldn't let that happen? What are you storing? Turf?
  14. Maybe the OP could clarify the issue? Maybe with some punctuation this time?
