  3. Did some work there back in 1982, I think it was someone called John running it then, not sure if it used to be his parents pub. The elderly lady who worked in the kitchen gave us a plate of freshly cooked chips every day. Was a nice pub, very quiet and like someone said a lot of professional people used it, I don't think I have ever been in there since then.
  4. Plus all those extra emissions created by sending motorists a greater distance to get from A to B.

  8. Too true it is all about the money, clubs that were big years ago are never going to get those days back because even if they get a billionaire owner and get in the PL their hands will be tied. Clubs like Forest whose owner wants to spend on the club but can't, we will have to see what happens to them if they get points deducted. I understand that they want to make sure clubs don't go broke and have finance rules but it seems the the big 6, or should that be 7 now with Newcastle are not going to be affected. I can't understand how clubs can go out and spend a fortune of 100's of millions of pounds and not break the rules.
  9. I never did but there are people who will buy them because it is their team,. I found my ticket for the 1973 semi final at Hillsborough the other day, it was for the corner between the Leppings lane and the North stand, it cost 75p, what do they charge now for semi finals?
  10. The fans are only seen as a cash cow, why else do some teams need 3 kits other than to generate more money from the fans. New Premier League kits 2023-24: Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City among clubs to release home shirts - Live - BBC Sport
  11. I always report any calls to the Information Commissioners Office, takes a minute to complete the form Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). I got them regularly on my mobile always from O2 saying can save me money and reduce my bill. The last one she was saying how she would reduce my bill, I said wow that's brilliant , fantastic it's always good to save money, I then said can you tell me how you are going to do that as I am not an O2 customer, I said just another scam call and I will report the call and the number to the ICO and she hung up.
  12. I don't think they will get another, from what I read a big chunk of the over spend was used for the new stadium. But why are we not hearing what is happening with charges against Chelsea and Man City?
  13. Sixty years after being released and classified as a 'U' Mary Poppins has now been classified as 'PG' due to discriminatory language. From the article: Classifiers picked up on the term used by the character Admiral Boom – first as a reference to people not onscreen, then as a reference to the film’s child stars when their faces are blackened with soot. “We understand from our racism and discrimination research … that a key concern for … parents is the potential to expose children to discriminatory language or behaviour which they may find distressing or repeat without realising the potential offence,” a BBFC spokesperson told the Mail. “Content with immediate and clear condemnation is more likely to receive a lower rating.” This only affects the cinema version. I wonder what film will be next. Mary Poppins’ UK age rating raised to PG due to discriminatory language (msn.com)
  14. Everton points reduction cut to 6.
  15. So if you have a house you live in and a house you rent out, is that classed as a second home? What will the council tax be on the house you rent out, I am not fortunate enough to have 2 properties I am just curious. A tenant won't want to pay double so the landlord would just increase the rent wouldn't they?
