  1. Ahh I'm so glad!! We've been out in Leeds so couldn't do much more than post on Facebook - glad you have him back he's a beautiful fella!
  2. I posted on Facebook!! My brother in laws friend has found a chocolate lab, he's totally safe
  3. That's horrible! solar lights aren't cheap either - The planters probably had around £70 of assorted plants in, they really did look beautiful - must have taken more than one to lift them though as they were really heavily weighed down. Due to this though the neighbors have all moved their nice items to the back of their houses - shouldn't happen though, i'd never dream of nicking anything!
  4. Unfortunately we get this a lot with 2 frenchies - people think that it's okay to ask how much they cost/ are they pedigree etc. I wouldn't dream of asking how much someone else's pets/cars/clothes/houses cost! I usually spin something off about them being on medications etc so they seem less desirable! it's horrible but it makes me feel a little better - i also try to walk them with my 6ft3 tattooed boyfriend who makes people stopping to chat a little less regular! Thanks for the heads up though xx
  5. Sothall/Meadowgate Area, It's usually very very quiet, there's a lot of neighbours with lovely things outside their front doors - sad that you can't have nice ornaments outside without being worried they will grow legs and walk.
  6. http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-basket-play-food/p231250767 - this is waitrose branded food http://www.tesco.com/direct/preschool-play-bag-with-playfood/681-2748.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=681-2748&sc_cmp=pcp_GSF_Fancy%20Dress%20Costumes%20%26%20Pretend%20Play_681-2748kpid=681-2748&sc_cmp=ppc_g__&gclid=CjgKEAjw286dBRDmwbLi8KP71GQSJAAOk4sjsna5D9E73g9JUQW9KhAGv-in9lheNSAUcp5sDaA59vD_BwE and that's tesco branded food Hope that's helpful to you and your friend!
  7. This may seem trivial to some - but my parent's have had their two large planters full of plants stolen from outside their front door while at the hospital today - very obviously not scrap/bin items either. As i says trivial to some but for my parents who take great pride in their garden it is upsetting So if you are in S20 please keep an eye on anything you like in your front garden!
  8. We've tried files and different clippers, he's a special one our dog - he's intimidated by the strangest things. He doesn't like having his paw held and will turn away from treats if we offer them. we've managed to get them done in the past but it's stressful all round. I could do with a groomer who knows how to be firm but understanding with him as i think he knows i'm soft and i'll leave him alone he doesn't have a mean bone in his body so not worried about him reacting - i just dont want him to associate me with the clippers!
  9. Hiya, Looking for recommendations for nail clipping for my very anxious french bulldog - he HATES having his nails clipped, we have tried doggy calming tablets, getting him used to the clippers, having his nails touched etc My other dog is fine, so can clip his no problem - they are both walked on pavement at least twice a day but his nails seem to grow SO fast - his dew claw especially. Can anyone recommend a good understanding groomer who can help my boy out? I don't want to have him sedated at the vets for something non medically necessary! In S8 but can/will travel Thanks in advance
  10. Hi guys, Just after any recommendations - We have 2 french bulldogs, one who has been with us since November who we re-homed after he was retired as a stud (he's 4) and although he has adjusted to being a lap dog more or less he is a bit of a delinquent in the house! He is making my other frenchie who used to be an angel into a bit of a trouble maker (snapping food out of our hands, whining for food etc) we've tried some basic training but had little success other than recall off the lead. I've read lots of websites but thought it would be useful to seek recommendations - thanks in advance.
  11. I'm with morethan - vets4pets millhouses did a direct claim while my boy was being sedated! I just had to pay the excess (£75) - it was one form, i signed, dated it and got the confirmation that it had been cleared by the insurers and paid this week. I also couldn't recommend a nicer bunch of staff - especially since we went in for a broken nail down to the quick and ended up having to have his nail removed under sedation there and then - 3 weeks of anti-biotics and a cone of shame later and he's like new.
  12. I buy beef mince, tripe, chicken and lamb from working dog food in the units just on cricket inn road, really good prices, the guys there are lovely and my dogs absolutely love it. They used to have natures menu but it was so thin and ikky that as soon as we found the new supplier we changed immediately and have never looked back!
  13. Thank you! I actually rang them earlier and in my shock that they said 'oh bring him in this afternoon!' i forgot to ask but thought if i rang back they might think i was a cheapskate ( i have a bit of phone anxiety! ) but thank you both i'm sure we will be fine i just want him back to normal and to stop blooming licking!
  14. Hiya, Have had a look online but alas I cannot find any info, My dog has cracked his nail and exposed the quick, we were told to keep it clean/wrapped but it's not getting better so have booked him in this afternoon at v4p's (our first appointment) - just wondering if any of you knew the consult fee? Presuming he'll need some anti biotics, possibly some metacam and it removing + consultation - i have about £80 to my name right now so i'm slightly worried!! We're insured on top level cover but i'm going to assume it will come under the claim level (never claimed so have no idea?!) Any info would be awesome
  15. Thank you He's been fighting the urge to rest, as he's only 16 months old he still gets excited about everything!! I contacted his breeder who said that without seeing him she would think it was a sprain with him using the leg and putting pressure on it etc and that if he was in pain the vet would prescribe metacam. I just hate seeing his little face look sad - he's my baby! I'll give them a call shortly - thanks again xxx
