Did anyone work at Chelsea Girl King St, 70's?
solar energy replied to giddygoat's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
I loved trying the clothes on there. I would try them on for a hour and buy bundles. I loved the shop, but I did get strange looks when I asked for 34" jeans. And when I asked for the men's toilet -
This may have been mentioned so apologises, but since Leon Clarke signed his extension on his contract, he's been terrible- he's stopped chasing down players etc. And call it sour grapes but the Ref should have halted the game prior the 70th minute due to the hull fan(s) cheating with the fake referee whisle . No need for that In The game

Would it have been better having a one team City?
solar energy replied to speedy69's topic in Sheffield Football
We are all Sheffield aren't we, why do we argue all the time who's the best. . . .we all know there have only ever been two of the greatest clubs to come out of the mighty Sheffield that's UNITED AND ROXYS, and that's been shut for the past 20years. -
Just wondering the "Owls" allocation for their recent new year day match up in Newcastle. Brick wall pointing - dust free solution??
solar energy replied to a topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
True True Dan, must works outside can call dust! Pointing, bricklaying, roof works, even block paving or roadworks. Explain to you neighbours that your having this work done. They should know better that there are other things to worry about in the world than a bit of dust on their cars. There is chemical dust all around us now, in the clouds etc and in the rain. Explain that when you point your house , your house will be worth more, look nice and make the street look nice- thus making their property worth more. -
Blades terrible, still top though. Both Sheffield teams ARE NOT VERY GOOD (phrasing this in a nice way) can't see s6 doing out this year, blades may reach the play offs.

Rough cost of single storey extension
solar energy replied to squizzy123's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Technically, dan2802 has given you a rough quote, try changing you question to "any precise ideas on a extension......." But I say £20k to £25k Depends on your footings, thickness of walls, plumbing works, INSULATION is the biggest hidden cost (floor, walls and roof). Electrics (if these find a fault expect a new fuse board). Planning costs, submissions. Roof, roofer, Plastering, joinery work are generally small fry compare to the first trades. Decorating and fixture an fittings. Or and materials.
