  1. Thank you for identifying yourself. Yes , I arrived wet behind the ears in September 1964 fresh from College! Peter Fenwack was a good footballer , it would be nice to have a few minutes with him again. If you have any information about address it would helpful. Sorry we never met.
  2. Without knowing your name it is very difficult to get the full impact of your memory. Do you ever see or speak to pupils from the 64-67 era?
  3. Your memory is remarkable. Can you tell me who you are? I taught from 64 to 67 and you give a memorable write up. But I do not recollect KAKES. My e mail is tracklay at aol.com. I was recently contacted by Roland Holloway.
  4. This website is great reminder of years and life passed. I had a short teaching spell at birley academy for life 64 - 67 teaching pe and science and met many able pupils and teachers. These letters have brought back so many memories of happy times and to see the names brought back to life through these extracts is brilliant. Thank you to all contributors.
  5. Are you related to John Rodgers of Gleadless sheffield? I played with John as both schoolboy and adult fine player and great bloke.
  6. You are referring to the frecheville secondary school. I new him when I was at the junior school. If you see him tell him ray Matthews was asking about him.
  7. In 1966 his name was Dennis. I do not know the circumstances surrounding his death.
  8. I had a cousin murdered in the Hyde park flats 33years old nams as Gorman.
  9. I lived on lister drive no 10 from 1953 to 1967. Family names I recall Lister cres., Slinn always had great teddy boy outfits Gower lost boy in an accident at Millhouses lido. Lister Drive Hides no 14 Bendell no 23 Lister Close Ward Lister way Race Base green drive bus rout road Fieldsend Other names but no road reference Hunter 2 girls Margret and Pamela Chapman Oates Barry Russell Most of these contacts were connected to St Peters youth club orvRidgeway youth club.
  10. I go back to 1954 when Gleadless was partly in Derbyshire. Those of us who went to school at Frecheville juniors took the 11 plus and passed faced one of 3 options. A daily trip to either Dronfield Henry Fanshaw , Eckington Grammar School or William Rhodes Technical School in Chesterfield. Each morning we would congregate outside the Red Lion pub and be bussed to school. Most of us did this for 6 years until 1961. Wind, snow, hail or blow. Good old Grant MacAllin got us there every day on time. Are you a member of the gang or did you join us at Ridgeway, Mosborough orvEckington?
