Hi everyone. Thanks for the advice. I decided to go the motorway route , but took a short cut through Huddersfield. Anyway the first 5 odd miles off the motorway were okay and then, did it get bad or what. Luckily my Subaru Impreza has a brilliant four wheel drive system and having winter tyres i managed to get out of what was a rather scary situation. The wind storm had thrown snow up to 5 to 6 feet high, which on a rather tight, dark countryside road at 3 in the morning was'nt fun and I most certainly would not recommend it. On the way back , just stuck to the motorways!!! Moral of the story is... you should act on the advice you asked for!

Hi I was wondering if someone could advice me the best way to Manchester Airport ( have to drop off my in laws at 3.00am). I would usually take the snake pass, but obviously thats going to be closed. I was thinking about the A628, or shall I just stick to the motorways ( M1 to M62 towards Manchester). Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Personally I think its too cold. From my own personal experience, I hated having P.E when it was freezing. Remember even those freezing break times, when we had to spend outside during 'playtime' and seeing the teachers in the warm staff rooms drinking hot cups of tea.

Anyone remember the Headmaster, Philip Lawrence who was murdered outside his school for trying to protect some student? Amazingly its been 15 years and the young thug who stabbed him is out and about again. Well had been for 4 months before he attacked someone else.....Apparantly he couldnt be deported because of his Human Rights!!! What a joke our judicial system has become. As a Law graduate I fully appreciate the importance of the HR Act, but it seems this essential and important law is not being used in the spirit is was made - to protect those who are weak and vulnerable, but being abused my rapists, killers etc. It most certainly is not being used in the spirit. Whatever happened to Mr Lawrences and his families rights?????

Thats my view also. Yep they maybe some bad experiences for some but lets face it when it comes down to it, everyone will call these 'morons' first when something really bad has or is happening to them. For that I think they deserve a bit of respect....

Couldnt agree more with you mate. Come on peeps if they had to drive around all day to find a parking space , it would waste hours of time, and then we would be all moaning they dont come quick enough, aint doing enough to bring crime down etc etc

Funny how kellieB hasnt responded to this and the other examples shown. I tell you dont some people talk utter crap or what. And talking about standing up and condemning extremist, lets not forget for example that Pakistan after the 911 attcks has fully supported the 'west', and the consequences?? Uses Admirals in crooks for years, have always been good or very good. Lately moved from the area so decided to check chippies closer by and having a look at this threads suggestions tried a few. Posidon in Woodseats were very good. However some of the suggestions like two steps in sharrow have to have been made by the owner! Load of rubbish or what. How they can survive in business is beyond me.

'they are all asian'. What the flipping heck has that got to do with it??? Could it be because 95% of the drivers are asian in Sheffield, so any taxi parked illegally at night is more than likely to be driven by an asian in Sheffield. You go to London and most of the offences by taxi drivers are done by non asians, due to the fact that most drivers in London arent asain. This is a issue and debate about taxi drivers attitudes, which when it comes to driving tends to be the same across the country. Your comments as bigoted as asain's saying that white taxi drivers are all gun crazy murderers........
