Does anyone know why there was the the odd house or two left standing on roads where the rest of the properties were demolished and if they will now be demolished as new building work is to commence in the area this year. The estate is going to look funny with blocks of new modern properties with the odd old house stuck in the middle of them.
Maybe the owners of the houses left standing were the ones that refused to sell them to the council?
The reason I am trying to find out is I have recently moved in to one of these properties that was left standing during the demolition only to find that the areas surrounding me are going to be built on starting from july this year. It is a small block of flats. Does this mean this will be demolished to make way for the new buildings. Have had a look at the plans but it doesnt really give me the info I need.

these houses were bought by the tenants and wouldn't sell under compulsery purchaceand hold out fof a better deal
If the buildings don't belong to the council then what right would they have to demolish them if they didn't go down the very expensive and upsetting compulsory purchase route?
These properties have always been sheffield Homes properties and still are. they were modernised under the Decent Homes project which is what makes it more confusing

Some properties are of differing construction types i.e the old malt houses ect and were not viable for improvement. Not saying thats the case where you are without knowing but as I say some of them like the "tin houses" on Holgate and other types were what is termed non standard construction i.e bricks and mortar and as such are expensive to maintain .
