Now I know that a lot of the Wap and Rebels memories have already been done to death, but I feel sure that a lot of us actually knew eachother back in the day. We were largely creatures of habit and hung around the same areas most of the time.
So where in each did you sit/stand/lean/fall?
For myself, in the my early days in the Wap i could be found either at the booth by, or playing on the pinball table.
In latter years I migrated to the far end by the fire doors.
In Rebels I was usually in the booth by the Pool Table or making a pr*t of myself on the dancefloor.:hihi:
My time was from about 1979/80 through to 1986 when I moved from Sheffield.

Erm, from about 85 to closing down I lurked by the pool table/table football. Somebody dedicated the pillar by the pooltables to be by inscribing in with 'Big tits ****' and my name

Used to hang around with Shane, Holmsy, Tony, Jay, Chris,Big Bog and Little Bog Mandi and Karen. (loads more I could mention) :D Oh happy days.

Some of the gang still get together for a christmas eve pub crawl around walkey every year.

My rebels spot was the pillar at the end of the room near the dj booth. (closer for the bottle bar)

I was always at the bar in the wap never moved far had long black hair and always with a black leather bikers jacket on with deep purple on the back of it. I use to moan that I had to go to the bog when I was losing valuable drinking time by doing what you have to do, as for rebels same thing always stood at the bar in my favourite place pint of ale in front of me with at least 2 brandys at the side or whisky if i was that way out. but if someone bought me a beer then it would always be newcastle brown and drink out of the bottle dont do what the little boys did and pour it into a pint glass then drink it, I can remember going into the wap one saturday afternoon after coming out of the old nelson pub what is now the rock bar where the subway use to be on the moor and I had only been in the wap about 10 minutes with my newcastle bottle in my hand when 4 guys walked in all with long hair and jeans on and sneakers they came up to the bar and bought a beer then one of them asked about my bikers jacket and said have you ever seen the group deep purple, I said know not yet but i am hoping to get a ticket tonight to see them, here there's a ticket for you have it on us it was the group deep purple who had given me the ticket.

I migrated from place to place in the wap over the years from the alcoves to the table football area and up to the far end past the DJ's box. Also spent a lot of time in the mid 80's up on the door counting people coming in and nattering to Chris, Russel and Robin who all worked on the door.
In Rebels had my two spots, one up with Bob the DJ and also in the corner next to the doorway where food was sold so I could waylay anyone I wanted to talk to as they either went or more usually came back from the toilets.
