Please check out our newly opened caravan and campsite at Wyming Brook, Redmires Sheffield.
www.wymingbrookfarm.com
Our site is located on our working farm and is set in a quiet, tranquill location with lots of lovely walk, close to local pubs who serve lovely home made food, both at lunchtimes and evenings.

I'm really sorry, no not at the moment, we are just in the process of putting it in.

Perhaps you need to make that clear on your website then?

Quote:
We are a small 1 acre gently sloping campsite offering peace and tranquility to five caravans or motorhomes with space to accommodate visitors bringing tents. Currently we offer six electric hook-up points, normal fresh water and elsan disposal points, rubbish bins and re-cycle points.

Thank you for your unnecessary comment Allen, but until you have full details of why the thread stated we have six electric hook-up points and why now I say we are in the process of putting it in then may I suggest you keep your comments to yourself.
Thank you

The thread doesn't say you have six electric hookups....your website does.
I don't see how pointing out your inaccuracy is unnecessary.
As someone who uses campsites all around the country it's important to me that websites give accurate information.
I'm shortly to make the 8 hour drive to Northumberland and need a campsite about half way.
Your site (with hook up) fitted the bill....or so I thought.

One last comment....if you are serious about building this business you need to take some lessons in public relations.
Telling potential customers to keep their comments to themselves does nothing to encourage visitors to your site. A simple explanation of the misleading information is all that was required.

Allen, I do not wish to get in to 'tit for tat' correspondence with you. However to reiterate, at the time the web page went live the information was accurate (as I stated to you). Had you phoned to make a potential booking you would have been told about the new electrics going in to the site.

One last comment ,,,,,,,,, our business is building with returning weekend customers and new, we are polite, helpful owners and are very recrptive to constructive comments, however comments such as yours are potentially harming to our business and I'm sure were the boot on the other foot then you would feel the same.

Should you wish to visit our site you would be made very welcome and we would also try our hardest to accommodate your electric needs (as we have for other visitors).

To be honest I can't see anything wrong with what has been said about hook up I would be a bit miffed if I was to book your site after reading that there was hook up and there wasn't.
I can understand what you are saying about it will be coming soon (but maybe that should be updated on your web site) I have family in Sheffield and the one thing it lacks is a campsite so I wish you all the luck in the world getting it up and running.

Hi Claire. The whole hook-up discussion was about the fact that our web page says we have hook-up for six caravans/motorhomes/tents (which we did), but it had been put in wrongly by a 'so called' specialist, so we have had to have the cables removed and are now in the process of laying the correct cables. So when vix2000 asked the question I quite rightly told him we were in the process of putting it in which he was fine about and said he would keep checking, but then Allen jumped on to the thread and made the 'in my opinion' unnecessary comment without knowing the facts. Many thanks for your kind wishes.

hi doodledoll, how soon will you have hook ups ready as i fancy staying on your site in my motorhome as i visit redmires a lot (birdwatching) and it would be ideal as a base to allow me to get to redmires at the crack of dawn and/or sunset when less people are around

Hello Monzaman, very soon I hope (sorry to be a little vague) but I will send you a message as soon as the new cables are in place and we'll look forward to seeing you.

hi doodledoll,i drove past your farm today on my way to find the view point on fulwood lane.i noticed you are in the camping and caravan club of which i am a member.the farm is closer to redmires than i thought and looks ideal for me and my family to stay on.is there any progress on the ehu situation as i have a few weekends free coming up and would like to catch some migrating birds at redmires:thumbsup:
also noticed the sportsman pub now seems very popular,do you know what their meals are like and do they serve real ales as this would also help in me deciding to visit:hihi:

have just googled your place and it looks to be in a great location to visit both Redmires and Rivelin Dams. The wyming Brook nature reserve looks fantastic too for walking our doggy, so we would be very interested in staying a couple of nights in our camper when you have got the EHU sorted.

What was the outcome monzaman?
Did you visit? Is the electric sorted?
I see the website still says six electric points available.
It's time I paid a visit up north again.

Get 2 decent habitation batteries fitted and a solar panel say to 100watts, and you wont need to rely on hook up points at all, even in this weather.!

How long will the heaters last on that ;)

Probably as long as the gas holds out, ehu has its bonus i know, but if ya want to go anywhere and not worry, solar and good batteries are the way forward.
I have diesel heater in our m/home (webasto), so i just have to make sure i have enough fuel in to keep warm, and it don't use a lot when running. But as it is fan driven, then thats where the solar and good batteries come in handy, and i can keep warm any where.!

Yes I know what you mean, I can make my leisure battery last over 2 wks in the summer without EHU.
But in the winter I think it’s well worth the extra couple a quid a night for EHU so as we can have unlimited use of electric heaters, microwave oven, griddle, toaster, kettle, running hot/cold water, lighting, tv and for myself the computer.
It would probably cost us more in gas to run the equivalent appliances but having said all that I see a lot of sites are going over to meters or tokens now for the EHU.

Hi Allen,no i didn't visit (work, family etc) but i still hope to soon.I have drove past a few times and it never seems busy but it may be because i tend to drive past late sunday afternoon when all campers have left.I will try to get in contact and see if the ehu's are sorted and then post on here

Wow doodledoll, reading certain comments, you've certainly had a run for your money advertising on Sheff Forum, sometimes you think "is it worth it?" I wish you best of luck with your campsite, just going to have a look on your website now!

Is this the web page you found....
http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/siteseekerlite/aspx/details.aspx?id=110132

It appears it's now a camping and caravan club certified site for members only...and doesn't provide electric hook up.

Hi, yes that is the website I found. Not sure how to work out the bands for pricing on the pricing page, has anyone else had a look?
