Has anyone else been waiting patiently for the new Debbie Stoller book to come out? On amazon it's already available but when I phoned Waterstones today they said it's not out until April 24th! It seems like I've been waiting a lifetime for this book to be released here! :(

Is that her new crochet (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0761139850/ref=wl_it_dp/202-0829807-2913454?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=I380L3HV6X3E3L&colid=1JW8UM5SXJQOU)one, or does she have another knitting one coming out? I haven't seen the crochet one in the shops, but like you say, it's says it'll be dispatched in 24 hours on Amazon.

Yes, it's the crochet one. I'm not a huge crochet fan but I find her books so interesting and so well written that I will probably buy it anyway.
It might make me take it up again! I wish she would release a new knitting one but she's a busy lady what with BUST n' all.

A bit too advanced for me at the minute though; I can just about manage the basic stitches crocheted into squares :hihi: .

I bought that book a couple of months ago, it's gorgeous! I haven't made anything from it yet but I like to look at the pictures and dream! I will get on with it eventually it's just I don't have to try with knitting, I just do it, and it's not the same with crochet for that I really have to concentrate.

I dont know how to crochet at all - bit difficult to finish some patterns that need crochet edging:S Im looking for a decent how-to...

Debbie is usually really good at explaining so I'm sure the new book will have a nice and simple 'how to', at least that's what I'm hoping!

Ive got the first stitch n bitch one so maybe that would be a good one to try. BTW has anyone got SNB Nation - is it worth getting?

I've got some print outs which I downloaded from the net. Trouble is, i managed to confuse myself by using American instructions. They call a single crochet a double, a double crochet a triple.... and so on. At least that's how I think it works. I'm still a bit unclear. I'll have a look for the links to the instructions, post them on here, and see what you all make of them.

I have Stich n' Bitch nation and I think it's great. There are a lot of good patterns and also it has some good instructions for altering and creating your own patterns which is always helpful. There is a lot about various knitting groups across the US which is interesting to read but I think I would have preferred some more patterns instead!

Wow, that's good and free postage too which is an extra excuse to buy them both! But do we really need an another excuse to buy a new knitting book ( or two!?!?) :hihi:
Talking of knitting books, has anyone read "At Knits end" by the Yarn Harlot?
I bought it a couple of weeks ago and am hooked, I read a few stories every day to make me chuckle.

No, but I'm so tempted to buy it. I do read her blog (link in the 'Recommended Links' section), and she's an excellent writer.

EDIT: Here's the link to the Yarn Harlot's blog (http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/):) .

I love her blog, came across it by accident a while ago whilst doing one of my general knitting searches, it's great!
I keep reading extracts of the book out to my husband, I think I'm driving him crackers though.
Waterstones have it in at the moment I think, I'm sure I saw it there, I think it's about £7.

Have you seen Kate Gilbert's blog, Needles On Fire (http://www.kategilbert.com/blog/)? She designed the gorgeous Clapotis (http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATTclapotis.html) wrap for Knitty. It's a really good read too.

Let me know what 'The Happy Hooker' is like, as I haven't seen that one in the shops. If it's as good as it's meant to be, I reckon I'll have to order it too.
