eeek ......... my volume has gone on my pc for playing songs through winamp, real player, dunno why, it went late last night.

I can play films ok, and can hear the sound from them, ts just on music, anyone know why ????

have you checked your audio settings i have had now and again the adio sometimes gets muted

Nope its not muted, as I can play films and the sound is ther, its just on music I cannot hear any sound

tis ok, I`ve sorted it, I am having a blonde moment, actually a very bad BLONDE moment, I must have knocked the volume control on Winamp down to the "no volume" setting, turned it up..... and hey presto ..... DUH

its ok, i went for 2 weeks without sound, couldnt work out what was wrong. tried everything. farted about for days with drivers. did everything i could think of.

turns out i had knocked the plug out. probably when vacuuming.

that'll teach me to do housework.
