Loads of them. Somebody must have a pond close by and with the down pour last night, I have been invaded with Frogs (Toads) on my patio. At one point i counted 11.

Anybody got any ideas how i can safely remove them without them coming back.

Just leave them alone, they will soon be off. They know where they are going and are not very to take up residence on your patio so I would not worry.

The only problem being that the patio is a drop patio so unless they can hop up a flight of 5 steps they are stuck.

I get frogs in the summer, see them on the patio around 6 in the morning when I go for the paper. They eat all those pesky snails and slugs that like to chomp through my bedding plants

I'm sure I had a dream like that

Do you want me to bring my cats round? They love chasing them! They don't hurt them though cos I think they're pretty scared of them lol

Stick a plank of wood in for them to climb, or a trail of bugs :)

If you've got a cat then keep it locked indoors until they've hoped off and made their journey to the nearest source of water.

Cats like to "play" with frogs, the bullying pussies. ;)

Just got back from my mums and on our way home in the car there were loads all over the roads. Im sure we ran over one by mistake before we realised they were frogs. We couldn't drive. I kept having to get out the car to get the off the road while we drove really slow. We must of seen at least 50. Mad little things.

Some years ago the The Towers moggie was a black and white tom cat called 'Curious' - or Mr C to friends and family. One summer night I was watching an old 50s black and white horror movie called 'Night of the Demon'. I'd left the back door open, turned the lights off and was watching intently when all of a sudden....as a climactic moment approached.... something wet and slimey 'plopped' on to my shoulder.

I leapt out of the chair, almost clobbered the TV set, turned the lights on and looked in to the chair to see a large frog. And on the back of the chair, a pleased looking Mr C. who was just looking down at the frog.

It took me an hour to coax the frog out, whilst the cat just watched with glee. To this day I am convinced that he bought the frog in to annoy me. :)

Today our pond resembled a witches cauldron..........absolutely bubbling with activity! There are loads in there........all cavorting! One huge frog had an equally huge belly so we can expect spawn any time now. Despite our high numbers of resident froggies we have equally high numbers of slugs and snails!!

They were probably the males looking for a mate....as for the steps, a plank of wood would probably help, but you'll probably find that the frogs will find their own way to wherever they're going.

I love frogs ~ as you can see from my avatar:)

Neighbours pond is exactly the same. The whole surface area is two-deep in frogs with lots of spawn already there.

It's hedgehogs you need to get the slugs, though.

One of my colleagues told me the other day that he went down to inspect his pond and found his Koi carp being sexually assaulted by a frog.

We managed to restrain ourselves from making jokes about the French, Kermit and also avoided signing the frog chorus :D

Quite right Swanny, there is too much frivolity in this forum of late.

BTW were the Koi knee deep, knee deep in spawn :P

It wasn't Owdlad, I asked if he'd consulted his Koi carp owners book and if it said anything about situations like this, he said "Nah, Reddit Reddit" :)
