Would any brand new knitters be interested in a knit-along? This is where a few people make a start on the same pattern at the same time, so that they are able to help eachother out as they go along.
If something simple-ish is chosen, it might make a good first project to try after everyone has got the hang of the basics. It might be less daunting to use a pattern for the first time if you know that someone else is working on the same thing, and there's someone to discuss it with.
If anyone is interested, post on here and then we can think about a pattern :) .

I'd be up for that, if you don't mind a non-beginner tagging along :) .

I have this so far! it was an experiement really to see if i could knit & i can't remember how i started it now - i think i found some simple guide on the net about how to get the first stitches on your needles and went from there. I have no knowledge of patterns but think i am making a scarf lol! If anyone knows what i can do with it please say!

Mmm, it's a tough one alright. Well, it could be a scarf, but I think the change in colour and tension at the end might spoil the effect. How about knitting a bit more in that lovely variagted yarn, then using a sewing machine to stitch it up into a tube. You could cut the blue and white bits off the end (:o ) and use the tube as a cup warmer so you can hold your grande lattes in comfort :) .
