Strange request but does anyone have any (recent) good links to sites with templates for Adobe Indesign (graphics layout software). We have CS NOT CS2 and the extension is .indd
I am specifically looking for a book/booklet template
thanks
Template (crap) designs is more of microsoft office area, but there should be some templates for examples sake that come with InDesign, you also may get lucky on adobes website :)
I cant see making a design youself that hard, couple of paragraph styles, some general consistencies and whey hey you have a nice orignal indesign book ready to publish!

Thanks Adaline, I share your thoughts on (microsoft) templates but its a quick start I want, not just to paste my text into the same doc as everyone else.
The adobe website doh
of course....

Annoyingly, CS2 comes with imposition software which sorts the page order out for you. Most of the booklet templates I've found for Indesign don't work particularly well...
...but then I always do it by hand anyway!
It's not that hard, once you get the hang of it. PM me if you need any advice!
I’m in Manchester and have a graphics company. We use InDesign all the time, having long ago forsaken Quark. Anything you want to know about setting up pages — or anything else for that matter — PM me and I’ll give you my telephone number.

cheers peterw, I've sent you a pm
I have a question with InDesign.. When creating a book, you first create the files and then create a book file and place all the other files in it..correct? And does the program automatically paginate it for the printer, or is it in "display order" and not "print order"???
Please help me figure this one out

Is there anybody out there in Sheffield who would be willing to give some advice - via PM or phone - to this newbie InDesigner who is having some struggles putting a book which was laid out beautifully in MS Word into InDesign?
Please?
Like how to get imported MS Word text to flow properly through frames, and how and when to use masters...? And more...

Unfortunately, all I can say is "good luck". You can spend a long time post-import sorting out character and paragraph styles, but getting the layout to match perfectly will be a challenge!
If it was laid out so beautifully, why put it into Indesign in the first place? PM me if you're that stuck - I know Indesign pretty much inside out.

Thanks, mr_chris - much appreciated. I'll give it another bash this weekend and PM you if I can't get it sorted.
The printing company I want to use for my friend's book doesn't like Word - it doesn't produce printers' marks and related stuff. Hence the decision to move to ID. And hence my plea for help.
