We keep reading from people about the amount of changes that have taken place in the City of Sheffield over the years. Some even say that someone having left decades ago would not now recognize the place. Is this true, or are there any specific places, buildings, lakes, parks, memorials, statues, etc. still in existence from - say - 1960 that have NOT changed and that one would instantly recognize today (March 23, 2006)?

The cathedral, the stubborn Council, Malin Bridge, Lady’s Bridge, the Midland Station, Wicker Arches, The Botanical Gardens, High Storrs (formerly Grammar) School, a good few churches, Abbeydale Cinema … the list is endless!
