i think its about time chris turner was sacked as the manager of swfc todays result proves he is not the man for the job:loopy:

There's a Board Room full of people to go before CT does. CT is only interested in doing a good job for SWFC, unlike Dave Allen who thought that he could make money at it through a property deal that was never going to happen because of the simple fact that the club don't own the training ground.

Well, I can't see the point in sacking him to be honest. I never thought he was up to the job in the first place but now the decision has been made they may as well give him a decent run. Who else could they get for the job? Who else would want the job?

they seem to have been playing Sack-the-Manager for the last few years, and it hasn't worked so I don't see why it would work this time... unless there is someone who is clearly going to do a better job than Turner.

No - because as long as he's in charge the Owls are s***, which keeps me happy.

(In actual fact I voted 'Don't care')

Agreed. The manager has nothing to work with but a bunch of young under committed players. I don't see any manager been able to do a better job in the same situation.

Continuity in the playing staff will be worth more than the megre cash that the club has available to spend on them! I would rather see CT stay and be given the chance to build from the ground up. Unfortunately, club chairmen sack managers long before their neck is on the block.

I really hope that CT doesn't become a patsy for the Board's inadequacies.

Dave Allen has lost interest now that he has finally realised that the club isn't going to be a weekly cash cow like his other businesses.

As for Ken Bates... if you're listening (and I think you are) take this to heart.... There is no property deal to be done at Hillsborough in the next 5 years! Invest in a great side and it will come, but there is no quick hit!!!

Take a look at Malcolm Reynolds at Scarborough... the deals will wait, the club has to come first or there will be no deals, then it will come... patience!

Turner has been manager for nearly two years and the team is in a worse state than when he took over. He is tactically inept, we have a new squad of players, most of which are good footballers, yet Turner still persists in playing the long ball. Its all very well saying changing the manager too often has got us in the position we are in, but when someone claerly is not up to the job, how long do you wait before sacking them? In answer to who would take over, personally I would like to see Paul Sturrock given a chance, or possibly Ronnie Moore.

Chris Turner was a good manager at Hartlepool.

Maybe he was, but the tactics that worked in the Third Division don't necessarily work in the Second/League One

Its the same division!!! Hartlepool are in the same league as Wednesday!! :loopy:

It seems to me that the Owls are playing better now than when Turner first took over. He has done a major revamp of the squad over the summer, and it is too early to judge yet how well they will do. Wait till about 15 games before deciding whether to start the "get a new manager every few months" game again.

Hartlepool were in the Third Division when Turner left you plank

Fair enough..Maybe I should take more interest in the lower league football that your team play in.
If I were you I would pray for another publicity stunt by Coca Cola to rename the leagues because it seem to be the only way you can get promoted a division. :D :D :D :D

Hi T I never said anything about a Wednesday failure,I said that how many former goaly's had made it as a a manager,Paul Jewel is a good manager & I hope the Owls get a decent manager & do well enough to get promotion & we will have derbys again in the Championship as I do not think Utd have ahope of promotion with the defence we have.UP THE BLADES

Wednesday looked like they had a decent team at the start of the season and now it looks like Turner has drained it out of them by playing the same tactic over and over again!

I went yesterday and I was in tears on the floor by the end of the game :p

Who's gonna get us out of this mess, SOS :help:
