Iv Got Really Bad Toothache And I Cant Sleep And Im In PAIN !!!!

If theres a hole in the tooth then gurgle a shot of whisky to numb ur tooth or take a cloth soak it in whisky and put it on your tooth and bite hard on it.

I suspect you're going to have to tough this out until your dentist opens in the morning. So, in the interim, try and distract yourself.

Start by getting yourself organised. Have your dentist's phone number written down and leave it handy by the phone. Does the dental surgery open at 8, 8.30 or 9? Ring the number now to check their recorded message. They may have emergency slots during the day - but you don't want to be beaten by other emergency patients do you? So, organise yourself to be quick off the mark.

Make a list of what else you need to organise ..... apologies for work? who's taking the kids to/from school? who's taking the dog for a walk? a shopping list?

Just keep yourself busy, busy, busy as best you can. You've around 4-5 hours to go now before you can speak to the dentist! Maybe longer before you can receive treatment. Good luck malton_s5 :thumbsup:

I had toothache a while ago and I am fairly sure NHS direct website says to not do this because it can cause some sort of damage to your gums...

Not sure it was any magic powers I possessed that made your toothache go away. But how have you survived? Remember, toothaches that go away usually come back again! Ouch!

It's true though. Aspirin placed directly against the gum can cause a burn. It irritates mucosal tissue which is why it can cause stomach upset and should never be taken if you have stomach ulcers.
