SHUDDER. Ouch. No thanks! I don't do pain. Can't help you on this one I'm afraid.

Waxing usually lasts 4-8 weeks depending on the individual. I've heard of nasty red rashes that can result from bikini waxing, but that depends on the person. I'd stick to immac or shaving, personally!

hehe i kno its bad and i usually use immac or whatever but i want it to last a while you see, saves me doin it for a bit. plus it looks so much better ;) im not into pain but i gotta say i like to trim my tree so thought might try it.

I've always shaved or used cream remover.

I decided to have mine waxed for the first (and last!) time last year for my summer hols thinking it would save me having to shave every other day on holiday. I had it done a week before I went away thinking it would last 4-8 weeks.

a) it hurt like hell
b) I came up in loads of blood blisters and bruises
c) the hair was growing back after a week.
d) it took a week for the blood blisters etc to go
c) by the time I was on holiday it had grown back enough that I had to start shaving again.

Waste of time.

It cost £7 at the Hilton.

thats poo. damn!! but it works for some people though, its like anything, depends. dunno what im gonna do. so many ppl i know have it done and say its fine. bol*o*ks. damn!!! im torn now!!!!!

I know, I thought it would be fine too! I have friends that have it done a lot without a problem.

If you do go, check that they do a brazilian. When I went for mine all they did was move my knickers a bit and did the strips in the main area. They didn't do underneath if you get what I mean!!

I now do it myself with a shaver and can get it all, all the sensitive areas that waxers don't touch and round by your crack too!!! Giving far too much info!!! Also, if you shave, then you don't get the same regrowth problems with ingrowing hairs turning to nasty spots, like you can (and I did) with waxing.

You might be fine, goodluck if you go for it, I know I won't ever bother again!

On the subject of topiary  are we talking your normal razors or the electric kind? Ive tried electric kind and sometime I end up snagging self... before everyone winces not where you think!! :wow: generally around the inner leg bit :|
to be honest Immac or as it likes to call itself Veet really stings and thats even using the sensative stuff!
But Ive found a new device, its this Remmington shaver specifically for the bikini area and its got this adjustable wheel thing for different lengths of hair  so you could always give yourself a number 1  :hihi:

Its called a Remington Bikini Trim & Shape.
Got mine from Argos cost £19.50! is better than the other shavers Ive used and a hell of a lot better than epilators... they do hurt!!!

mimicraze
16-04-2004, 14:59

Hi Mimi!
I've had mine done just the once... It was at Mint in Meadowhall and cost £7.50 (bit dear but the lady was really nice cos I'd not been before)...

The first strip is the worst, believe me! It made my eyes water lol But after that you get used to it and its not too bad... (I'm not saying you're not glad when its over lol) It was alright for me, no ingrown hairs, no itches etc... The tea tree stuff they put on after is great at cooling down the area, as it does feel a little warm after.

It lasts a lot longer than shaving etc, I'd say mine lasted 3 weeks. I'd go for it if I were you, otherwise you'll always wonder!!

I had a very low bikini line and the sides done... The sides were the worst lol... Oww! (Take something to leep yourself occupied... lol...do anything! It'll take your mind off it lol!)

I asked the therapist if anyone had asked for a brazilian and she said they had, but its at the therapist's descretion whether to do it or not... Afterall its unhygienic for them and probably not the highlight of their day lol!

If I were you, I'd just have it shaped then if you tolerate that, go the whole hog!!!

As for being an angel, yep I'm sally's :) I'm cooled off at the moment as I have exams and I have soooooo much work to do lol! I don't know anyone who wants to become one... Sorry!

I do mine at home when I have to. Immax cold wax. It goes on like a roll on but not as smooth and then you press on the strips and rip away. You can wash the strips so it is quite economical.

Tricky for bikini line but practice makes perfect. Go for it. The discomfort is not that bad and I have not had any bad rashes.

Eeeeeeeee :o tried home wax kit not good not good! Thing is youre more likely to be to gentle to yourself and wind up gluing yourself together with wax! get a mate to do it and their masochistic side comes through!!!

Ha Ha this topic brings back memories. I was a Beauty Therapist for 11 years. Waxing was a daily thing in the summer and it was all we did in the summer. It was also not my favourite job I can tell you: especially on a hot humid day!

The first time I ever had it done I thought I was going to pass out. It hurt like hell even afterwards too. I could dish out the pain but I couldn't take it at all. But I went back time and time again. Legs n'all. Even eyebrows. I had a wax pot at home and often did my own. Yeeeeaaggghhhh.

You guys have no idea what it takes to be a woman!

Hear hear!!!
If left to nature we ladies would look like a chimpanzee with Freddie Mercury facial hair.
Still we dont just do it just for the boys... personally I like the feeling of my freshly defuzzed legs against newly laundered sheets, or anything else for that matter

It might just be me but your legs also look thinner after youve shaved/waxed them :loopy:

Oh this is too good to be true!

This battery powered trimmer comes with ten reusable bikini hair templates in some of Jenna's favourite designs. To use, simply hold the design in place over the pubic hair area, then trim around it with the Hot Trimmer. Remove the template to reveal your unique new ‘hairstyle'. The Trimmer also has two interchangeable heads to make things easier. You could even make a template of your own for a real one-off look.

wonder if they do tree templates for Chritsmas!

Speaking as a bloke who had his chest, neck and damned close to his own nether regions I can't recommend enough the idea of avoiding waxing...

Blood blisters, ingrown hairs, itchyness... and not to mention the fact that your significant other (present or future) will be completely grossed out and not come near you...

Yes, painful experience but worth it for nearly a grand for comic relief... voluntarily.. not a chance!! :loopy:

Indeed you will..

and Trust me I've done a lot worse over the years :) .. as have a whole load of other complete nutters... It's all good fun

Oh and in an amusing aside... my GF at the time of the waxing, had incredibly poor eyesight and semi-woke up more than once over the next few days (post wax) and felt this smooth chested bloke next to her... She'd then always wake up fully with a start wondering how drunk she'd gotten to pull some random bloke.. :D
