My parents have had 2 canary which have died sudden of which i dont know.
they seem to go into a sleep ball and not come up from the bottom of the cage.
Anyone have any ideas:confused:

look out for this, if the fire has a yellow flame it could be more than the canaries that die. The flame should be hard blue. If any other colour than turn it of and do not use it at all. then get a gas fitter to check out the ventilation and flue etc. It is not unknown for older people to block up ventilation at this time of the year as they think it causes draughts

We already knew we had a leak but the landlord didn't believe us, he just said the detector had turned black because one of my housemates had been smoking near it. Took 4 months and 3 gas engineers out before it got fixed, cowboys.
canaries used to be taken down mines as detectors of poisonous gases

Any decent bloke would have sorted it straight away. it sounds like your landlord was employing his mates and they werent bona fidae engineers. Always use experienced men
