Can anyone help me with two film titles? ... I have forgotten the titles because it was years ago that I watched the films on TV. If I could find them out I would then try to buy them, sorry my clues will probably be sketchy but I will try mah best.

FILM 1:
Was about a newspaper reporter who wanted to do a story of a condemned man about to be executed by electric chair, he goes into the prison and spends some time with the prisoner. But the Governor mixes them up and the reporter is held and put in the chair at the end of the film, there is a surprise end to the film when they don't press the buttons, take off the face mask to explain that they knew all along he was the wrong man and just wanted to give him a real inside view of what it was like, but he is dead through fright.

FILM 2:
Is another American film about a couple who meet and get married within about day, they go to Florida on honeymoon. She immediately gets very badly sun burnt on the beach because she won't wear suncream and she has to stay in the apartment all through the honeymoon, meanwhile he keeps going to the beach by himself, he meets this gorgeous woman and they get it on. That's all I can remember about this one.

Both were great films that I really enjoyed, Either of them ring any bells?

Be wonderful if someone can tell me.

FILM 2 sounds like The Heartbreak Kid (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005R24E/104-3498582-5034326?v=glance&n=130) with Cybill Sheperd as the "other woman".

Film 1

Look at these faces (http://www.cinefania.com/movie.php/60600/en/b) from a 'Tales of The Unexpected' episode - The Final Chapter. Ring any bells?

"The other episode that still gives me the willies featured Roy Thinnes as a reporter who is steadfastly opposed to the death penalty.
A plan is hatched between Thinnes and a prison official to allow him to go undercover on death row as an inmate. While there though, a guard who knows who Thinnes really is (and bears a grudge against him) switches his prison uniform so that the reporter's clothes now bear the number of an inmate set to be electrocuted.
In what must be the performance of his career Thinnes is absolutely "electrifying" as he desperately tries to get everyone to realize the mistake that's been made- but of course, who would believe the ravings of a death row inmate, right?
So, he is dragged out of his cell kicking and screaming like an animal and strapped into the awaiting chair. Every single second of this heart pounding struggle is riveting to watch, right to the black cloth mask being placed over his face and the switch being thrown-
and then prison officials and the guard who set him up step out from behind the scenes.
They inform Thinnes that this has all been concocted to show him what a condemned man really goes through. They're all opposed to capital punishment and want him to continue in is crusade to end the death penalty. The conniving guard is even the one who unties the straps. But when he removes the death mask the guard finds himself looking into the staring, lifeless eyes of a corpse.

Trauma has caused the reporter to die of fright. An absolutely chilling moment of revelation."

Tales of the Unexpected 1977 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0125648/)

I'm sorry Cgksheff do you mean "Tales Of The Unexpected' is actually the title of the film? .. it definitely is the film I saw from your description.

Was it a made-for-TV film? and do you think I'll be able to get hold of it.

Thanks for the brilliant reply detailing the storyline.

Tales of the Unexpected was a great series - ITV in the 1970s, I think?

The episodes were about an hour long, and each was a self contained story. We have nothing ike this any more - the other one I remember was 'Thriller', and there were also soem outstanding episodes of 'The Twilight Zone' that I remember.

As JoeP says, it was an ITV Series. 112 self-contained episodes are listed here (http://www.tv.com/tales-of-the-unexpected/show/978/episode_listings.html&season=0).

Unfortunately, it does not appear to list The Final Chapter which I think is your story.

The link that I put in my post above indicates an American series which may have been different from ours.

There are dvd's out there but whether they are of the American Series or the ITV one, I don't know ... and finding which DVD had your episode on it would be another game!

Thanks Cgk & Joe, I think I'll buy The Heartbreak Kid DVD and give the other film a miss. It sounds likely I would struggle to find it anyway.
